The fifth All-Russian Homeroom Teachers’ Forum concluded at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 3 October, the fifth All-Russian Homeroom Teachers’ Forum
came to a close. The event brought together 1,000 homeroom teachers and
curators of secondary vocational education groups from 89 regions of the
country and the city of Baikonur at the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow. Over
the course of three days, educators discussed issues such as relationships
within teaching teams, their own safety and that of their students, value-based
upbringing, and tools and approaches to career guidance. The Forum is held by
order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
Since 2025,
the Foundation for Humanitarian Projects has been the Forum’s operator,
organising the full programme of events. For the fifth year running, ANO
"Dialogue Regions" has served as the Forum’s strategic partner,
supporting teachers across the regions.
Deputy
Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko expressed
gratitude to the special military operation veterans who chose the path of
mentorship: "Our shared task is to ensure equal access to quality
education throughout the country — from the largest cities to remote
territories. The Government of Russia is working consistently on this,
and within the framework of the national project 'Youth and Children' a modern
educational infrastructure is being created. Never in our country’s history has
there been such large-scale investment specifically in educational
infrastructure. Of course, not only the material base is important, but also
the moral component."
"The
All-Russian Homeroom Teachers’ Forum has flown by. The event once again
became an excellent opportunity for communication and the exchange of
experience. I believe this is extremely useful and important," emphasised
Sergei Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation.
Chair of
the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia
Gumerova responded to questions from Forum participants concerning the
development of secondary vocational education: "This topic is one of the
central issues on the Committee’s agenda. More than 60 percent of
ninth-grade graduates choose secondary vocational institutions to acquire
professions in demand by the economy and labour market. The law adopted in July
2025 establishes a model of targeted sectoral training tailored to the needs of
specific employers. We are continuing to work in this direction."
Speaking
about the role of mentors in shaping future professionals, the parliamentarian
stressed that mentorship has always existed in various spheres: "This was
common in Soviet schools and at our enterprises, where, along with production
experience, a mentor also passed on moral experience, offering advice, personal
example and action."
Maxim
Dreval, Director General of the Russian society Znanie: "For us,
participation in the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum is always a major event. We
are glad to be among such a large community of dedicated people, teachers whose
mission fully coincides with ours — nurturing the younger generations. I am
pleased to congratulate my colleagues on the first anniversary and wish them to
maintain this pace of development and scale up even further. The Russian
society Znanie is always by your side and ready to provide support in every
endeavour."
Morning
exercise for Forum participants was led by Grigory Drozd, Russian public
figure, sports official and commentator, formerly a professional boxer and Muay
Thai fighter. In August 2025, he reached the North Pole as part of
Rosatom’s Arctic expedition "Icebreaker of Knowledge". On board the
icebreaker, he held daily exercise and training sessions.
Yelena Vostrikova, ambassador of the Homeroom Teachers’
Forum 2023, semi-finalist of the TV show "Classnaya Tema!"
("Cool/Class Topic!") and biology teacher from the town of Babushkin
in the Republic of Buryatia, presented the interactive project "Memory
Map" for homeroom teachers and their students. Its idea is to tell the
story of small towns in Russia that contributed to Victory in the Great
Patriotic War — towns, settlements and villages that played an important role
both at the front and in the rear. Initially, the project was called "Book
of Memory". Members of the community searched for information and compiled
individual booklets into a unified "Book of Memory". Sixty-four
educational institutions from across the country took part. Later the project
evolved into the interactive "Memory Map". Today the map features 70
commemorative points, and this is only the beginning. The presentation and
launch of the "Memory Map" took place at the fifth Homeroom Teachers’
Forum.
Tatyana
Madieva, ambassador of the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum 2023 from the Republic of
Tatarstan, teacher of general education subjects at the Leninogorsk Oil
Technical College, summed up the large-scale patriotic project "80 Good
Deeds for Victory" created by participants of the Forum and dedicated to
preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War. The project brought
together more than 60,000 participants. It was created and implemented by
teachers — participants of the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum. Teams carried out 80
good deeds across eight tracks. Each track had a moderator who guided and
supported the participants. Schoolchildren and students of vocational education
institutions studied the exploits of their ancestors during the Great Patriotic
War, designed "Hero of the Great Patriotic War" desks, created models
of monuments and souvenirs symbolising historical memory, and cleaned the
burial sites of Heroes of the Soviet Union. The project was implemented on the
Sferum educational platform. This academic year university teachers and
kindergarten educators also joined in. Participants completed more than 100,000
good deeds.
On the main
stage of the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum, the results of nationwide professional
competitions for teachers held by the Ministry of Education of the Russian
Federation were announced.
Every year
the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum introduces participants to the best federal
platforms and projects that enrich teachers with new methods and valuable
experience.
"Taking
part in the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum in its anniversary year is a great honour.
Here we are joined by teachers and educators — the very people thanks to
whom children can come to Artek, discover new horizons and be inspired to
achieve great things. On this important day for the teaching community I wish
the Forum participants productive and eventful days, sincere and meaningful
discussions, new discoveries and exciting educational routes. May our
professional union grow stronger and our ideas bolder. I am sure that together
we will create a future where every child feels their uniqueness. Thank you for
your dedication and for making Artek a place filled with meaning and
light," noted Konstantin Fedorenko, Director of the Artek International
Children’s Centre.
"The
Movement of the First has already integrated 1.8 million mentors into its work,
and the platform of the Homeroom Teachers’ Forum is another opportunity to
discuss with teachers the key directions of our joint work. Within the
Forum we held a panel discussion where we talked about the history and current
practice of the children and youth movement, the organisation of regular work
of primary branches of the Movement of the First in schools and vocational
institutions, and opportunities for children and teenagers to develop through
project-based activities," emphasised Hero of Russia, participant of the
presidential personnel programme "Time of Heroes" and Chair of the
Movement of the First, Artur Orlov.
As part of the Forum, the Prosveshcheniye Group of Companies celebrated its 95th anniversary together with participants. More than ten workshops were held on topics such as smart digital assistants, media literacy and dialogue with artificial intelligence. These were conducted by teachers involved in Prosveshcheniye projects aimed at professional development of educators. A dialogue on the modern role of the teacher and the purpose of the textbook was held with Forum participants by Nadezhda Kolesnikova, Editor-in-Chief of the Prosveshcheniye Group. In addition, Prosveshcheniye organised the quiz "Journey Through Time: 95 Years of the Publishing House". The journey was led by experienced "guides" who told the story of how the publishing house was founded and developed, and the milestones it has passed over the course of 95 years.
