Shows of the play "The First and Second Lives of Galina Ivanovna" were held at the RUSSIA EXPO as part of Konstantin Bogomolov's author's project "Voices of the Country." The main role in the production was played by theater and film actress Alexandra Ursulyak, leading actress of the Pushkin Theater in Moscow. The play was directed by Philip Gurevich, the playwright is Ekaterina Guzema, and the artist - Philip Shein.

The protagonist of the play was Galina Yakovleva from Nyagan (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Yugra). Galina Ivanovna is 76 years old, she is a veteran of labor. Before retirement, the woman worked as a labor safety engineer, and after that she got a job as a street cleaner to avoid boredom. In addition, Galina Ivanovna is a volunteer of the movement "Man of Theater" at the Nyagan Theater of Young Spectators. There she plays the role of a mourner in the play "The Life of Spiridon Rastorguev".

"This production is a performance-research. I personally know Galina Ivanovna Yakovleva. This is a beautiful woman with a difficult fate. She has worked many places. It seems to me that she has a completely ambiguous fate. She stoically endures the difficulties that life throws at her. At the same time, she does not renounce any of the terrible things that happened in her life. This is a person with a sense of humor and an interesting worldview. It was interesting to make a play about her," said the director of the production Philip Gurevich.

"Voices of the Country" is the author's project of Konstantin Bogomolov, realized with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. 12 documentary mono-performances at the RUSSIA EXPO will tell the stories of ordinary people whose everyday work changes our lives for the better.

In last November, the creators of the project, headed by artistic director Konstantin Bogomolov, announced a competition, which resulted in the selection of 12 stories from 340 applications. For several months, famous theater playwrights, directors and photographers went to visit the heroes and "lived" with them for a few days, trying to get as close as possible to their work and life.
