Prank as a tool of truth: Vovan and Lexus spoke about their secrets at the RUSSIA EXPO
Famous
pranksters Vladimir (Vovan) Kuznetsov and Alexei (Lexus) Stolyarov talked to
the guests of the Exposition about the secrets of prank journalism and how a
joke becomes a tool of truth.
Let us
remind you that Vovan and Lexus became famous for easily tearing off masks from
the most famous and inaccessible people: actors, writers and even the first
persons of states. The main goal pursued by the pranksters is to show the world
the political and personal "underside" of the ruling elites, which
will not be revealed on TV.
"We
are not trying to ridicule someone, the people themselves show their essence.
Therefore, the prank is rather reminiscent of the work of our intelligence
officers. If you remember, there was a radio broadcast, when our intelligence
officer with the help of a radio game misled part of the German army, thus
helping our troops. And we are trying to do such useful things, getting
important valuable information and, first of all, a real picture of what is
happening in the circle of our adversaries and opponents. Because it is very
important to know what, for example, the head of a particular state really
thinks, what forecasts he gives, while from the screen he can broadcast
something completely different," emphasized Alexei (Lexus) Stolyarov.
Vladimir
Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov talked about how they started their activities
and how the idea of their own show came about, how often vis-a-vis realize that
they are talking to a prankster and how they react to deception, on what
principle pranksters prepare a "list" of future "victims"
and whether there are moral and ethical principles that will never be violated
in conversations.
"Initially,
we did not plan to become famous and create super complex content. For us, you
could say, it was a game, fun, because the first prank was more of a hooligan
flow, entertainment. But then we began to develop, and at some point, we
realized that it was necessary to end it, to grow and do something new - and
that's how we gradually came to pranks that have political significance",
- said Vladimir (Vovan) Kuznetsov.
The heroes
of the meeting shared their experience, explained how to resist fake
information, what a modern journalist should be like and what to do to make a
person fully "open up" in a conversation.
"The
main thing is not to give in to emotions, because fakes just hit emotions, so
that a person gets anxious, afraid and further spread false information without
thinking," Vladimir Kuznetsov is convinced.
"What a journalist should be like is always dictated by society. If society is morally healthy, then the journalist will be at the same level. We try to live up to our moral principles. There are, of course, different publications, but we are more about serious topics and serious matters. And our task, like any journalist's, is to make people talk, so it is very important to ask the right questions, to guide them to what they really think. Many people were recognized as foreign agents after our conversations, because they made their position as clear as possible, without any ambiguities," added Alexei Stolyarov.
The lecture by the pranksters took place on the Day of Career and Education in Media in Pavilion No. 57 "Education / Decade of Science and Technology" in the Lecture Hall of the general partner of the Exposition's educational program - the Russian Society "Knowledge".
