Uraza Bayram holiday will be held at the House of Russian Cuisine
Guests of the RUSSIA EXPO are invited to celebrate the end of the holy fast of Ramadan — Uraza Bayram (Eid al-Fitr in Arabic). On Wednesday, April 10, from 13:00 to 18:00, in the House of Russian Cuisine, teams from the North Caucasus regions of Russia will treat guests to national dishes and sweets, hold culinary masterclasses and tell visitors about the culinary and cultural traditions adhered to by 21 million Muslims in Russia.
Uraza Bayram is a warm family holiday, during which it is customary to meet guests at a common table with traditional food, give marmalade and candy to children, and do good deeds. On this day the House of Russian Cuisine will become a place where you can celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan with the whole family.
Tables with Dagestan and Chechen dishes and sweets from the Dagestan cuisine network "Dagestanskaya Lavka" ("Dagestan shop") and the project from the Chechen Republic "DAAR" will be set up for all guests of the holiday. Anyone will be able to make a mehendi drawing or take part in cooking masterclasses.
Since its opening, more than 1 million people have visited the House of Russian Cuisine. Educational festivals have become the main objective of the work of the new pavilion at VDNH:
"During the first five months of operation of the new pavilion at VDNH, the House of Russian Cuisine has become a popular tourist attraction and without exaggeration a cultural and gastronomic center in the Russian capital. The unique composition of participants creates an informal atmosphere in our House and represents a small model of multinational multi-confessional Russian society," said the curator of the House of Russian Cuisine, author and head of the all-Russian project "Gastronomic Map of Russia" Ekaterina Shapovalova.
We would like to remind you that in February in the House of Russian Cuisine we widely celebrated the annual holiday of Russian Buddhists Sagaalgan (Tsagaan Sar), and on May 5 we plan to celebrate Easter.

14:00—15:00. Masterclass on cooking traditional pies of the national cuisine of the peoples of the Republic of Dagestan — chudu ("Dagestan shop") and Chechen Republic — khingalsh ("DAAR").
15:30—16:30. Masterclass on preparation of traditional dishes: national cuisine of the peoples of the Republic of Dagestan — khinkal and Chechen Republic — zhizhig-galnash.
