India’s representative to close the International Music Contest "Intervision" with his performance
Indian musician Rauhan Malik will close the International Music Contest "Intervision". This was announced following the draw held on 12 September at the National Centre RUSSIA.
"It is amazing to be the showstopper. I am thrilled," the musician emphasised.
Rauhan is rapidly gaining popularity both in his native India and abroad. His album "Lost;Found" has gained almost 400 million streams on one of the popular services. According to statistics, the release is played almost a million times a day. Malik will bring the song "Love" to Russia.
"I simply adore your country. I like the weather, the people, the hospitality. And there is so much similar to my native Kashmir. We also have a samovar in Kashmir. And it originally came from Russia. I love that. I really like it here," said Rauhan Malik.
Kashmir is the main theme of the musician’s work. His goal is to promote the melodies of his native region worldwide. Therefore, his music is not like what most people are used to perceiving as Indian. It is blues rock, folk and even ethnic motifs with active use of national musical instruments. In addition to his creative activities, Malik is engaged in promoting the cultural legacy of Kashmir through educational projects.
The final of "Intervision" will take place on 20 September in Moscow at the Live Arena. Singer Yaroslav Dronov (SHAMAN) will represent Russia at the contest.
The event traditionally focuses on discussing current issues of food quality and safety.
Semyon Minakov and his teammate Nikita Shevchenko won a prize with their project about the feat of their compatriots.
The event will take place on 25 September at the National Centre RUSSIA.
