The premiere of the ballet "The Nutcracker" in multimedia scenery took place at the National Centre RUSSIA
On December 28, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the debut performance of a new version of the ballet "The Nutcracker." For the first time, Hoffmann's renowned fairy tale and Tchaikovsky's iconic music were integrated with cutting-edge technologies to offer the audience a unique artistic experience. Guests of the National Centre who were the first to see the performance were delighted with what they witnessed.
The uniqueness of this production lies in its innovative approach to stage design. Static decorations have been replaced with multimedia elements. Computer graphics, animation, and dynamic visual effects bring Masha's story and the enchanted prince truly to life. At the same time, the creators have carefully preserved the essence of the original story and treated the traditions of classical Russian ballet with great respect.
"Today I watched the ballet 'The Nutcracker,' and I absolutely loved it! The animation was stunning, the ballet performances were magnificent, and the costumes and scenery were beyond praise. I am overwhelmed with emotions!" shared one of the first viewers, Alexandra Balakhonova.
Visitors to the National Centre noted that the performance is perfect for family viewing. Both adults and children appreciated the production. Young viewers were thrilled by the vibrant ballet with special effects and animation, and they particularly enjoyed the dynamic plot: the enchanting story captivates and keeps you engaged every single moment.
Renowned artists participated in the ballet "The Nutcracker": the role of the prince was performed by Igor Tsvirko, a principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, winner of international competitions, and recipient of the "Soul of Dance" award. Marie was portrayed by Kristina Kretova, a leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre and laureate of the International Ballet Prize Dance Open. The main intrigue of the performance was its unexpected finale — a surprise for all the guests.
"I really enjoyed this interpretation; the ending was original and symbolic. We attended as a family and were 100% satisfied. Thank you for such a unique opportunity to experience something so beautiful," concluded Natalia Petukhova.
The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations, and regions take part in the Centre’s work.
The National Centre RUSSIA is located at 14 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, Moscow. The Centre is open from 10:00 to 20:00 every day except Monday.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
