On April 4 at 12:00, the International Multimedia Press Centre of the Russia Today Media Group in Moscow will host a press conference marking the launch of the All-Russian project "Modern Musical Map of Russia." The project aims to preserve and develop national academic performing arts, support composer schools, and strengthen interregional cultural ties.

The event will feature:

— Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA;

— Nikita Mikhalkov, People's Artist of the RSFSR, director;

— Svetlana Kalikova, Minister of Culture, Nationalities, and Archival Affairs of the Chuvash Republic;

— Dmitry Dmitrienko, Director and Artistic Director of the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble "Russia" named after L.G. Zykina;

— Irina Gerasimova, General Director and Artistic Director of the Russian Television and Radio Centre "Orpheus";

— Singer Tatyana Kurtukova.

"Modern Musical Map of Russia" will unite works by composers from all regions of the country, creating a unique sound portrait of Russian culture. As part of the project, an All-Russian Music Festival will be held, showcasing new compositions that reflect the cultural diversity of Russia's peoples.

A selection committee in each region will choose the participating composers. They will create musical pieces as "calling cards" of their respective regions. The result will be a concert program performed at venues in ten regions.

The final stage will feature a series of concerts in Moscow in September 2025 at the Grand Hall of the "Workshop '12' of Nikita Mikhalkov," where the works will be performed by leading ensembles, including the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble "Russia" named after L.G. Zykina and musicians from the Orpheus Television and Radio Centre.

Recordings of all compositions will be made available on streaming platforms and distributed to the regions for inclusion in the repertoires of creative groups and festival programs. The project will conclude with a gala concert on November 4, 2025, at the National Centre RUSSIA, dedicated to National Unity Day.

The project is implemented by the Foundation for Innovative Development of Culture, Education, and Science (FIRKON) with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
