The Ryazan region strengthens its industrial potential through high technologies and clusters
Industry is a key strategic foundation of the Ryazan region’s development, and the region is consistently strengthening it by supporting high-technology sectors, creating industrial clusters, and developing modern infrastructure. This conclusion was reached by participants in the track dedicated to the region’s industrial potential. The event was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 24 December as part of the Ryazan region week, which is taking place from 22 to 28 December.
The track on the region’s industrial potential was opened by Deputy Chair of the Government of the Ryazan Region Yuliya Shvakova. The discussion on infrastructure development also brought together heads of leading regional enterprises, representatives of management companies, residents of industrial sites and technology parks, and industry experts.
Yuliya Shvakova noted that industry is a strategically important sector for the region and accounts for one third of the regional gross product. In recent years, the average industrial production index has exceeded 110 per cent. Among the key policy priorities in this area are support for high-technology manufacturing, the development of industrial cooperation, and the expansion of industrial infrastructure. The most promising sectors include radio electronics, pharmaceuticals, and the production of unmanned aerial systems.
"The Ryazan region is currently among the top three regions in the country in terms of creating industrial clusters. We pay close attention to this area, including through the work of the Industrial Development Fund," she said.
The Deputy Chair of the regional government also spoke about the development and flagship products of enterprises in radio electronics, the defence industry, and the pharmaceutical sector, as well as the operation of industrial sites in the region. The discussion also covered the creation of key infrastructure and the areas of activity of the Innovative Scientific and Technological Centre "Aerospace Innovation Valley" and the Research and Production Centre for Unmanned Aerial Systems PROTOS. According to Yuliya Shvakova, plans are in place to establish the Agni Business Park, which will specialise in aerospace systems and technologies, radio engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, and medical equipment.
As part of the meeting, heads of leading regional enterprises shared their experience in improving business efficiency and implementing investment projects. Presentations were held on the Ryazansky Industrial Park, the Research and Production Centre for Unmanned Aerial Systems PROTOS, and the Agni Business Park. Representatives of resident companies also spoke, whose activities focus on the production of automotive components, radio-electronic equipment, metal structures, and other strategically important products.
The Ryazan Region Days at the National Centre RUSSIA are being held from 23 to 28 December. As part of the thematic week, business, cultural, and educational programmes are planned with the participation of the region’s senior officials. The week opened with the lecture "Success. Sport. The ceremonial event marked the completion of large-scale work to open the Yugra branch of the National Centre RUSSIA.
