Russia has become even closer to the East through the International RUSSIA EXPO
On November 4, the State Museum of Oriental Art at VDNH (pavilion No. 13) opened the exposition "Russia. Closer to the East" as part of the International RUSSIA EXPO. For the first time the Museum of Oriental Art presents an exposition, where more than a hundred works of contemporary art of different peoples, living thousands of kilometers away from each other, but being citizens of one great country, harmoniously coexist.
"I am eternally grateful to the management and staff of the museum for putting together such an amazing and unique exposition. It seems to me that our cooperation with the East can hardly be overestimated, we complement each other greatly, and I want us all to look at this exposition together, so that some will remember and some will discover our deep and incredible cooperation with the East that enriches us all", - the Director General of the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» Natalia Virtuozova said at the grand opening of the exposition.
The exposition, which unites two concepts of the Orient - geographical (the Russian Far East) and mental (traditional Oriental culture of the North Caucasus) - presents works from the collection of the State Museum of Oriental Art and its North Caucasus branch.
The exposition "Russia. Closer to the East" starts accepting visitors from November 5, 2023 and will be open until April 12, 2024. For the entire period of the exposition, the entrance to the Museum of Oriental Art will be free of charge.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. During the entire duration of the Exposition, guests will enjoy cultural and entertainment events, a rich business and educational program. Visitors will see expositions of all 89 regions of Russia, leading federal departments, corporations and public organizations. Representatives of federal authorities, major corporations and public associations will take part in the exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO will last until April 12, 2024.
Professor, Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) in Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman will be another international participant of the Open Dialogue.
On 28 August, the National Centre RUSSIA launched enrolment in the "Young Tour Guides School of Russia".
On 27 August, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a panel discussion organised by the EISR titled "Knowledge about the Country’s Achievements: To Whom and How Should It Be Properly Communicated?".
