Sergei Kravtsov launched the All-Russian seminar for press secretaries of the education system
Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kravtsov, addressed participants of the All-Russian seminar for press secretaries of the education system on 11 December. He spoke about the results of efforts to strengthen a unified educational space and the importance of professional information support for this work. The event is organised by the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Centre for Educational Initiatives, and the Mashuk Knowledge Centre.
In his welcome remarks, Sergei Kravtsov stressed that the modern education system has inherited the best methodologies and tools developed in the Soviet era. A significant contribution to strengthening the country's education system was made by Mikhail Prokofiev, who served as Minister of Education of the USSR from 1966 to 1984.
"There are no quick victories in education. A school can be built in two or three years, but to see real results – improvements in knowledge, the upbringing system, the worldview of generations – time, patience and systematic work are needed. This is why, on the instructions of the President of Russia, we are shaping a unified educational space – introducing unified programmes and textbooks and building an effective system of upbringing. And this is already yielding results: we are seeing growing interest among pupils and their achievements, especially in natural sciences. Detailed lesson planning has been introduced, and schools now employ upbringing advisers. With such a cohesive system in place, we gain a key advantage: it becomes much easier to identify and address emerging issues – precisely and effectively, often before they develop into problems. The system enables us to steadily improve the quality of education nationwide," said Sergei Kravtsov.
The Minister of Education of Russia noted that the outgoing year has been a successful one for the Russian education system. Since 1 September 2025, a key regulatory document has been in force – Order No. 704 of the Ministry of Education of Russia. It clearly defines the criteria for the content and quality of education, as well as the academic load for pupils from Year 1 to Year 11.
In conclusion, Sergei Kravtsov thanked press secretaries for building strong and trustworthy relationships with regional media, opinion leaders and the expert community, as well as for shaping a positive perception of the education system and its key components.
At the plenary session "Digital Transformation of Education and Communication Strategies for Regional Development", participants learned about the strategic priorities of communication policy.
Irina Shilkina, Director of the Department for External Communications and the Secretariat of the Ministry of Education of Russia, spoke about developing cooperation with press services of regional ministries of education and organisations subordinate to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
Sofya Malyavina, Director General of the ANO "National Priorities", presented information on advancing national projects through the digitalisation of the education and communication systems. She highlighted the progress achieved in implementing the national project "Youth and Children", which creates new opportunities for young people, renews infrastructure and advances secondary vocational education.
Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Anastasia Zvyagina, delivered a report titled "Federal Information Policy: Advancing Digital Projects and Strengthening Interaction Between Public Authorities and Society".
"A few years ago, these things felt highly complex, but today they have become part of everyday life. Every major project – cultural, educational or governmental – now inevitably receives a digital extension. We are seeing a simple yet important process: an event takes place, and then it continues to live in digital form – becoming accessible to the entire country," said Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Anastasia Zvyagina.
Anastasia Zvyagina presented several examples of this work. She noted that the RUSSIA EXPO became the largest national project, attracting 18.5 million visitors over eight months. The exposition evolved into a full-fledged digital ecosystem. During the exposition’s run, a personal account system was introduced: all 130 participants – regions, ministries and corporations – operated within a unified digital framework. A Situation Centre was also created – a genuine command hub for the exposition: large screens, real-time analytics and dozens of signals covering logistics, queues, programming and service, ensuring smooth and stable operations every day.
Anastasia Zvyagina added that this experience formed the foundation for the National Centre RUSSIA’s digital projects – from the "Journey Across Russia" exposition to the multimedia concert hall and the International Symposium "Inventing the Future". Dozens of future scenarios were digitised, and the Neurocontent Cup was held for the first time.
The meeting also featured Maria Kudryavtseva, presenter of the Economic News Service on the Russia 24 television channel and author and host of the programmes "There Is a Solution" and "Instruction". She shared effective communication practices in the field of education.
Participants included writer Alexander Tsypkin, representatives of VK, the ANO "Dialogue Regions", the Artemy Lebedev Studio, Medialogia, the People’s Front, Dzen and others. The attendees explored modern challenges, communication tools, approaches to countering information threats and interaction with the media in the education sector.
The objective is to establish a unified standard for guest engagement across all branches of the National Centre RUSSIA nationwide.
