Dmitry Yershov from Moscow, the six millionth visitor to the RUSSIA EXPO, together with his wife Irina and their children — 11-year-old Yegor and six-year-old Lisa — last weekend visited the main holiday of the peoples of the North in Salekhard — Reindeer Herder's Day.

The certificate for the trip was provided to the family by the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» and the Government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. During the trip Dmitry and his family not only watched reindeer sled races, but also rode reindeer themselves. The guests tried on national clothing — malitsa and yagushka, dined in a real chum with traditional national dishes — stroganina (sliced raw meat), shurpa from deer meat and local berries. They visited the trade rows where they bought a shaman's tambourine and carved a moose horn amulet at the county crafts house. At the end of the trip the family had a sightseeing tour of Salekhard and took part in a ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle with a solemn presentation of personal certificates of polar explorers.

Irina Yershova noted that before this trip she did not know much about the culture of northern peoples, despite the fact that the family used to live in Khakassia. According to her, the trip helped them better understand the traditions and plunge into the everyday life of the locals.

"There is a feeling of some kind of coziness, of home. We like everything. Thank you very much," Irina Yershova noted.

Each of the anniversary visitors of the Exposition has already received a valuable prize.

On March 20, the Exposition welcomed its nine millionth guest. It was nine-year-old Andrei Batorov. He together with his sister and parents will travel to Lake Baikal accompanied by experienced guides. The eight millionth visitor arrived at the Exposition on March 6 — it was 14-year-old Vadim Leizer from Tyumen, who came with his parents and younger brother. The winner was awarded a certificate for a family visit to the friendly football match between the national teams of Russia and Serbia on March 21. Vadim and his younger brother were also presented with two sets of customized football uniforms of the Russian national team.
