Siberian power: A world record was set at the International RUSSIA EXPO
Mikhail
Shivlyakov, an Omsk strongman and the only athlete in Russia who won the Arnold
Schwarzenegger competition, set a world record at the opening of the Day of the
Omsk Region.
On the Day
of the Region it was decided to demonstrate the incredible strength of the
Siberian spirit. Mikhail Shivlyakov had to bend more than 12 metal rods with a
diameter of 10 millimeters in a minute.
The rods
were brought to the stage with a surplus, and as a result the Russian bogatyr
not only bent all of them - 36 pieces, but also managed to do it in 50 seconds
instead of the declared minute. No one in the world could do such a thing
before. The achievement was officially registered in the Book of Records of
Russia.
"I
hope there won't be any consequences and I won't go bald because of this
prematurely. But seriously, it is important to love any endeavor in which you
plunge with your head. And for this love to be sincere, you need to understand
the meaning of the word "Motherland", to love your land, your region",
- said Shivlyakov.
After the
record was set, the audience was able to take pictures with one of the
strongest people in the country, as well as take one of the bent rods as a
souvenir.
"I'm not a small guy, but I tried to bend such a rod, it didn't work. And here a man bent them on his head as if they were made of molding clay. That's the power!", - admired the visitor of the exposition Evgeny Barankov.
