The Young Tour Guides School began its work at the National Centre RUSSIA branch in Primorye
On 27 September, classes for the first intake of the Young
Tour Guides School of RUSSIA started at the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye.
This is a project for schoolchildren from 12 to 17 years old, which is designed
to develop the children's career guidance and skills needed in excursion
activities.
Daria Guseva, Head of the Excursion Department of the
National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region, shares her knowledge of the
profession with the children. From the very beginning, the students were
immersed in the profession: their first mission was to find all the tigers
"hidden" in the expositions of the National Centre. Under the
guidance of an experienced tour guide, the Head of the Excursion Department,
the children stepped on a path of creating their own tiger quest for their peers.
The lesson aroused great enthusiasm among the kids. They performed the tasks
with interest and shared their ideas for the future quest.
Natalya Naboichenko, Minister of Tourism of the Primorye region, greeted the young guides and said the instructive words to make their
studies successful: "You live in such an interesting time when you can
demonstrate the history of your native land with the help of new technologies.
I wish you success in your studies and I am sure that we will see each other again.
It is quite possible that you will conduct guided tours here soon."
The lesson aroused genuine interest among the future young
guides. Their eyes shone with excitement, and ideas for future excursions were
born right on the move. They also recorded a video greeting for their Moscow
peers, whose classes will start a day later at the National Centre RUSSIA in
the capital of the country.
The project "Young Tour Guides School" is intended
for schoolchildren from 12 to 17 years old and is aimed at career guidance and
developing children’s skills, knowledge and abilities needed in excursion work.
This course is for those who want to learn how to talk about their native land
inspiringly, trustworthy, and interestingly.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, the School
students will learn the basics of stage speech, learn how to work with
information and create exciting routes. Most importantly, they will have a
chance to conduct a real tour of the expositions at the National Centre branch.
One-hour lessons are held on Saturdays at 15:00, at the
National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region, and at the sites of the regional
Tourist Information Centre.
