The bonds of marriage were tied with a nautical knot: Sevastopol "fleet" wedding
Denis Varvarin and Victoria Ruga from Sevastopol got married according to regional traditions at the RUSSIA EXPO. The life of the newlyweds is closely connected with military service.
The bride and groom sealed their vows of fidelity in a special glass vessel and tied a nautical knot, which became a symbol of the strength of their union.
"This is probably the main event in our lives. It is unforgettable for any person. The wedding was held in such a wonderful atmosphere - obviously, it will be for years to come", — Denis Varvarin said.
Denis Varvarin is a fourth-generation military officer. His great-grandfather took part in World War I, and afterwards headed the personnel division of the political department of the Siberian Military District. His grandfather was chief of communications of an aviation regiment of the Leningrad Military District. Father served 31 years in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, of which 26 - in the Hero City of Sevastopol on the Black Sea Fleet. Denis himself graduated from the Nakhimov Naval School and the Naval Polytechnic Institute. He has been in the service since 2009, and since 2014 - in Sevastopol on the Black Sea Fleet.
"It is very exciting. I want to thank the administration of the city of Sevastopol and the Exposition for the great support", — Victoria Ruga added.
Victoria also comes from a military family. She works at the Patriot Military-Patriotic Park. Her father is a reserve colonel, a veteran of combat operations, who ended his military service as head of the marine engineering service of the Black Sea Fleet. Today he works as an assistant captain of the diving and rescue department of the Specialized Unit of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol. The newlyweds were congratulated by the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev.
"I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart. Your wedding is already definitely a part of Sevastopol's history. Our President declared this year the Year of the Family - and at its very beginning, at the RUSSIA EXPO, you are creating a family. And the fact that there was such a wedding will go down in the history pages of the city for sure. We will be proud that such an event took place", — said Mikhail Razvozhayev.
Deputy Director General of the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» Anastasia Zvyagina wished the newlyweds a happy family life.
"I would like to thank you deeply that today you shared one of the most important events in your life with us, with Russia. For a moment you have transported us to Sevastopol. There have been many weddings at the Exposition, but this is the first time we have had a navy wedding. I wish your family life to be as strong as the nautical knot you tied today", — Anastasia Zvyagina addressed the newlyweds.
On January 8, Sevastopol Day was held at the RUSSIA EXPO. Visitors were told about the city's key achievements and development plans. Separately, experts discussed the development of winemaking and wine tourism in our country. The round table was held as part of the Day of Sevastopol. Many people associate domestic wine brands with this Crimean city.
The integration of special military operation veterans into peaceful life and the interaction between regions and municipalities were discussed as part of the Forum "SMALL HOMELAND – THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA".
