Hundreds of people donated blood on Donor Day at the RUSSIA EXPO
A large
event organized in collaboration with the Federal Medical and Biological Agency
(FMBA) of Russia was held at the RUSSIA EXPO. A concert and mass flash mobs
were prepared for all those who decided to devote Saturday afternoon to the
noble mission. The participants of the campaign donated blood in a mobile blood
donation center located near Pavilion No. 62.
Donations
were also made at the Blood Center of the FMBA of Russia. Pre-registration was
not required. All participants of the campaign were treated to tea and sweets.
"Today
the Federal Medical and Biological Agency and the entire Blood Service
celebrate National Donor Day. This is the day when we honor all gratuitous and
honorable donors who donate blood and save human lives. We would also like to
congratulate the employees of the Blood Service who participate in the
organization of such an important activity as the donor movement," said
Olga Eichler, Head of the Department of Medical Support of Extreme Work and
Blood Service of the FMBA of Russia.
The
campaign at the RUSSIA EXPO was attended by students of the capital's
universities, the Young Guard of Moscow, representatives of youth councils of
the FMBA of Russia and other agencies.
"Guys
not only came to give blood, but also took part in the creative program of the
holiday. Young doctors and scientists, students of Moscow universities,
representatives of public associations sang and danced, charging those gathered
with their good mood," said the Chairman of the Youth Council for the
Central Federal District of FMBA of Russia Anna Anikina.
On the day
of celebration of the National Donor Day, FMBA organized a culinary masterclass
at the Exposition. A team of chefs from the House of Russian Cuisine and a
transfusiologist from the Blood Center of FMBA of Russia Ekaterina Belotskaya
introduced the guests to the principles of quality balanced nutrition and
opportunities to diversify the diet before donation and between donation
procedures. Donors were also able to taste a variety of breakfast dishes from
different parts of Russia.
Young tour guides participated in another session of the School of Young Tour Guides.
On April 27, a children's workshop titled "Sugar City" was held in the art class of the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA.
Experts of the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" arrived in Moscow.
