100% presence effect: the atmosphere of theatrical art at the "Journey Across Russia" exposition
Every year
on March 27, the world celebrates Theatre Day. Visitors can experience the
atmosphere of theatrical performances and learn more about the role of this art
form in the history of our country at the National Centre RUSSIA. One of the
most striking parts of the "Journey Across Russia" exposition is a
vibrant photo zone dedicated to the Mariinsky Theatre.
The State
Academic Mariinsky Theatre is one of the oldest theaters in Russia, located in
St. Petersburg. Founded in 1783, it was named after Empress Maria Alexandrovna,
the wife of Emperor Alexander II.
"Visitors
to the 'Journey Across Russia' exposition can see a fragment of the Mariinsky
Theatre stage, adorned with the grand 'Golovin' curtain. It was named after the
artist Alexander Golovin, who based the design of the historic curtain on the
pattern of Empress Maria Alexandrovna's gown train, in whose honor the theater
was named. Guests can step up to the stage, carefully sit in a chair, and
imagine themselves, for example, playing a suite on one of the real musical
instruments that are also part of the exposition. Our guests love it and enjoy
taking photos here," said Yuri Bolotov, a tour guide at the National
Centre RUSSIA.
Visitors to
the exposition note that the elegantly designed "Mariinsky Theatre"
photo zone perfectly immerses them in the theatrical atmosphere. They
appreciate the attention to detail in the exposition’s design.
"This
photo zone is something special. The grand decorations and chairs, real
orchestral instruments, inspiring background music, video projections creating
a 100% presence effect, and even a replica of the royal box. I was especially
impressed by the enormous luxurious chandeliers with candles. I will definitely
return here in an evening gown to make my pictures even more refined. Now, I
have one more dream—to visit the Mariinsky Theatre," admitted Alina from
Kozelsk.
The
"Journey Across Russia" exposition brings together the history,
traditions, and modern achievements of all federal districts of Russia. Unique
displays and multimedia installations showcase the country's natural, cultural,
and historical diversity, as well as its major advancements in science and
technology. The project also includes the Gastronomic Rows "Journey Across
Russia. Food," where guests can taste both traditional and innovative
dishes from across the multicultural country.
Admission
to the "Journey Across Russia" exposition is free. Visitors can join
a guided tour by registering in advance on the website of the National Centre
RUSSIA at russia.ru. The exposition is open daily, except Mondays, from 10:00
to 20:00.
