Souvenirs made of mammoth tusk, shamanic tambourines and chocolate with kumys: unique goods at the Exposition
A Department Store will be open for guests in Pavilion No. 75 for two more weeks. Here you can buy handicrafts from all over the country, as well as the best products — from textiles and tableware to sweets and cosmetics from various regions.
The Sakha Republic is famous for its master carvers who create real masterpieces from mammoth tusk. This is a rare and very expensive material, and no mistakes are allowed in working with it. But each product is unique and precious. A skillfully crafted souvenir can be passed from generation to generation and will eventually become a real family heirloom.
In the Department Store you can find rare musical instruments. For example, a unique harp from Alania or author's seven-stringed gusli, as well as Nenets tambourines made of natural materials in the traditional way, in special chums in the Arctic. And also, unique balalaikas, which combine ancient Russian traditions and modern technological solutions.
The sweets department is invariably popular in the Department Store. One can't help treating oneself when the choice is so great. Pastila, marshmallows, nuts and fruit chips, all kinds of gingerbread and natural honey. Including from Bashkiria, where high-quality honey is produced, which is part of the diet of astronauts on the ISS. Chocolate deserves special attention. There are classic dark and milk chocolate with nuts and berries, as well as chocolate souvenirs and handicraft bars with unusual additives: pepper, salt, ginger, kelp and scallop, as well as delicate white chocolate on kumys.
