Svetlana Khorkina became an honorary guest of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Krasnoyarsk region
Two-time Olympic champion and nine-time world champion Svetlana Khorkina became an honorary guest of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Krasnoyarsk region, which opened on 15 December.
"Unique, wonderful, vibrant, innovative. It is truly impressive. The Krasnoyarsk region has much to be proud of. It is possible to showcase people, labour dynasties, what the region lives by today, where it started and what it has achieved. One must know their small homeland and know their beloved country, Russia," Svetlana Khorkina said.
During the visit, the Olympic champion viewed the stands of the region’s leading enterprises and explored the interactive zones. According to Svetlana Khorkina, she was particularly pleased to see a gallery of Olympic champions from Krasnoyarsk presented at the venue.
"I would like to thank the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for the idea of creating such a space. For supporting it and bringing it to life, and for the opening of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Krasnoyarsk region. I recommend everyone to visit and see the achievements of the people who have made the Krasnoyarsk region famous. They have brought glory to both the region and the city across the country and around the world," she added.
Svetlana Khorkina is a two-time Olympic champion (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000), a multiple-time world and European champion in artistic gymnastics, and an Honoured Master of Sports of Russia.
