Combined children's wind orchestra performed at the National Centre RUSSIA
On May 8, the audience at the National Centre RUSSIA enjoyed a performance by a combined children's wind orchestra, which launched the festive concert programme "Our Victory – For All Time!" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The orchestra brought together more than 100 young performers — students of children's music schools, schools of the arts in Moscow, and other educational institutions of the capital. The combined ensemble performed under the baton of Mikhail Bryzgalov, President of the Russian Wind Society and Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation. The event was organised by the Valery Khalilov Wind Society Association.
The orchestra performed pieces dedicated to the courage and resilience of the generation of victors, as well as marches, lyrical and patriotic compositions that have become musical symbols of Victory.
"This whole year is dedicated to the Great Victory. It is very important that we talk about patriotic education. Concerts like this one show how traditions are passed down from generation to generation, when young people with shining eyes perform songs once sung by their great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers, and known by their parents. After these concerts, young performers even share their impressions on social media. Our students put in a lot of effort to prepare for this performance at the National Centre RUSSIA. Congratulations to everyone on the upcoming holiday — Victory Day!" said Mikhail Bryzgalov.
The performance of the combined wind orchestra opened the festive concert programme "Our Victory – For All Time!" The audience heard familiar wartime songs, works by contemporary composers, and new creative collaborations specially prepared for the anniversary concert. The artists also presented heartfelt monologues, excerpts from front-line letters, and poems about love, duty, home, and Victory.
This year, wind orchestras and percussion ensembles will be part of a large-scale musical movement. According to the Valery Khalilov Wind Society Association, more than 1,000 events involving wind and percussion ensembles will take place across the country. These events include concerts, parades, open-air festivals, and wind music competitions held on the main squares of hero cities, at historic battle sites, in small towns and villages, and in border regions.
