"We expect to improve the quality of accessibility of medical care for those who are under care at the outpatient phase. There are more than 200 thousand enterprises in the Russian Federation and 13.5 million people work at them. There are 735 strategic enterprises with more than 700 thousand employees within the area of responsibility of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency," said Tatyana Golikova, noting that the Federal Medical and Biological Agency is the flagship of the development of industrial medicine, has a rich history, a remarkable professional and scientific staff that deals with the problems of industrial medicine, develops science in this field and makes it possible to implement scientific achievements in practical life. That is why the comprehensive development of industrial medicine across the country begins precisely with the institutions of FMBA of Russia.

"Since 2022, 14 centers of industrial medicine have been operating in the Agency's service territory, and I want to say that there are very positive results - the reduction in the incidence of disease in the population served for 2023 was 18%, and the primary disability rate decreased by 23%. And, of course, this gives us confidence that we are going in the right direction and developing this area of activity in the FMBA," said Tatyana Golikova.

Head of FMBA Veronika Skvortsova noted that biomedical science has changed the paradigm of healthcare.

"We have moved from treating the sick to accompanying the healthy. The ideology of comprehensive prevention has developed, which required modernization of the entire system. Together with the Government of the Russian Federation, with Tatyana Alekseevna (Golikova) we have developed a reference system of industrial medicine based on the creation of complex centers of industrial medicine, as close as possible to people's workplaces and production processes. This complex includes a network of digital health posts, modern, high-tech, consultative and diagnostic centers, a department of primary specialized care, including a psycho-physiological laboratory, departments of occupational pathology, outpatient rehabilitation and a number of others. Thus, we create a full block of primary health care from maximum personalized prevention to maximum restoration of health - all this is concentrated in one place, which, of course, is extremely comfortable," said Veronika Skvortsova.

Based on the specifics of the enterprise served, specialists of the Industrial Medicine Centers analyze harmful factors of production and the peculiarities of occupational diseases, which allows for a personalized approach to preventive and treatment measures for each employee.

"It is important to note that the development of digital technologies has ensured the integration of all structures of industrial medicine centers into a single digital network. This allows, on the one hand, to remotely monitor the state of health, especially of crucial personnel at complex production facilities, to actively utilize telemedicine methods of diagnostics, including from wearable electronic sources. On the other hand, to ensure continuity of medical care, to monitor the dynamics of the condition, to provide comfortable conditions for examination," emphasized the head of FMBA of Russia.

During her speech Veronika Skvortsova noted the Agency's work on the implementation of the Strategy for Development of Industrial Medicine of FMBA of Russia, which will allow to reduce the incidence of diseases in the able-bodied population (attached population) and primary disability by at least 10% by 2027, as well as to increase the expected duration of active working life and reduce mortality in the working age population in the service areas of FMBA of Russia by 20%.

As Veronika Skvortsova noted, more than 60 Industrial Medicine Centers will be opened in the country by 2027. She thanked all those involved in the development of the industrial medicine system, as the health of working people determines not only the socio-economic development of our country, but also determines the health of other population groups - children and older generations.
