Teresa Durova invites guests to the "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition
A creative meeting with People's Artist of Russia and Artistic Director and Chief Director of the Teresa Durova Theatre will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on 13 September. The event will be held as part of the "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition, marking the 150th anniversary of the Theatre Union of Russia. Teresa Durova invited guests to the event during an interview on Radio Kultura.
Teresa Durova, the great-granddaughter of legendary clown and animal trainer Anatoly Durov, was the first member of the famous circus dynasty to devote herself to dramatic art. In 1992, she founded the Teresa Durova Theatre, now known as one of Moscow's most successful musical drama theatres for the whole family. During the morning broadcast on Radio Kultura, she said that her company had contributed many interesting exhibits from its productions to the exposition.
"The exposition features a wealth of our sets and props — all the very best and most interesting pieces. We work with outstanding theatre artists and designers Maria Rybasova and Viktoria Sevryukova. It is their sets and costumes that are presented at this exposition," noted Teresa Durova.
The "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition is being held under the motto "A Union of Happy People". The exposition takes visitors behind the scenes of the theatre and tells the stories of the people who create performances. It features more than 600 exhibits from 117 theatre organisations across 30 regions of Russia, including sets, stage machinery, costumes, masks, sketches, props, puppets, archival documents, photographs, audio and video materials.
The exposition route is designed as a walk through a theatre — from the "stage door" and an interactive zone dedicated to theatre professions to the central section, which tells the 150-year history of the Theatre Union of Russia. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
The creative meeting with Teresa Durova, held as part of the "Legacy. Theatre. The Greats" exposition, will give guests an opportunity to speak with the director in person and ask questions about her creative approach, theatre, productions and the company's plans. Register and join us!
