Tiger, lizard and orcas: who can be found at the "Future in Flowers" festival
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the
International RUSSIA EXPO. If you have not yet seen the amazing flowerbed
expositions of the regions, be sure to visit the "Space" pavilion,
behind the "Stone Flower" fountain, and appreciate the creative solutions
of florists and gardeners.
MAGADAN REGION
Snowy mountains, rivers and forests, sea bays and coastlines — all this is the amazing nature of the Magadan region. Its beauty is reflected in the region's flower exposition. The main attractions here are juniper, cedar creeping pine, larch, and of course, orcas, which roam the sea of irises and alyssum flowers. In reality, these beautiful creatures can be found in the Sea of Okhotsk, and they are one of the symbols of the region. Moreover, many northern peoples believe that humans originated from orcas. In Magadan, there is even an art object called "Orca", made using the "sculptural gabion" technique — a metal mesh in the shape of an orca filled with stone. The sculpture is roughly the size of a real orca.
JEWISH AUTONOMOUS REGION
The basis of the region's flower expositions is the flag of
the Jewish Autonomous Region and a silhouette model of a happy family. Each color of
the flag is represented by a specific plant: begonia, marigold, ninebark,
kochia, petunia, surfinia. The white background of the flag, which unites all
the colors as a sign of the friendship of the peoples of the Jewish Autonomous
Region, is represented by white marble, which is mined in the area and is the
basis of the world's supply of magnesium fertilizers.
But what attracts attention the most is the realistic figure of a tiger. The luxurious predator was chosen to decorate the flowerbed not just by chance. It adorns the coat of arms of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The tiger population in this region is larger than in other regions of the Far East.
SVERDLOVSK REGION
The flower expositions is inspired by Bazhov's famous fairy
tale about the search for perfection, "The Stone Flower". If you look
closely, you can see the main character — the Mistress of the Copper Mountain
in the form of a lizard wearing a crown. Around her are plants in shades of
purple, crimson-red and emerald, symbolizing the underground treasures of the
Urals: malachite, rhodonite, jasper and other minerals.
