Participation of media and bloggers in shaping family values discussed at RUSSIA EXPO
On July 5, at the International RUSSIA EXPO as part of the IV All-Russian Forum of Large Families "Russia of Many Children", a round table "The Role of Media and Bloggers in Promoting Traditional Family Values" was held.
In particular, the participants of the event discussed the role of media personalities and mass media in increasing the birth rate and promoting family values, including through entertainment content.
"Our country, like many other developed countries, is facing challenges such as the declining number of women of reproductive age and a change in family culture, where the decision to have a child occurs after the age of 30. There is also a change in the structure of the family, where the number of children in the family is smaller than it was a few decades ago. Raising these topics is important for our country in terms of saving the nation and the population. It is also important that all the measures taken by the state are accompanied by a social agenda, which is created through the work of mass media, media and public institutions," said the moderator of the round table, Deputy Director General of the ANO "National Priorities" Oksana Brazhnik.
One of the topics of the roundtable was the promotion of family values among Russian youth.
"Our today's topic is a key one from the point of view of demography and nation-saving. Without children and without family it is simply impossible. All the financial and material measures taken will have no effect without people realizing the value of children and family, because no money can guarantee the well-being of the family. The existence of a family depends on the values that the members of this unit of society profess — this applies to young people as well," said Ekaterina Larina, Director of the Department for the Development of Mass Communications and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
The round table was also attended by Marina Pikuleva, Research Director of Mediascope JSC, Alexander Martynov, theater and film actor and resident of the Insight People production centre, Anya Ishchuk and Dimas Blog, bloggers of the LiveLiness production centre, Maria Zalunina, Head of CSR at National Media Group JSC, Vladimir Permyakov, Promotion Producer of the Cargo film company of the Internet Development Institute, Alexei Trotsyuk, General Producer of the online cinema START, Galina Sofenko, Director of Sponsorship Projects at Rostelecom PJSC, Elizaveta Belyakova, Chairwoman of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment, Olga Lipich, Head of the Religion and Worldview Department, Coordinator for Interaction with Religious Organizations at Rossiya Segodnya Media Group's Main Directorate of Information, and Artem Budyonny, special correspondent of the Religion and Worldview Department at Rossiya Segodnya Media Group's Main Directorate of Information.
