The second "Arktika-M" meteorological satellite will be launched in December
The "Arktika-M" meteorological spacecraft No. 2 will be sent into orbit as early as mid-December. It will carry out all-weather monitoring of the Arctic region.
The spacecraft will work in tandem with the first "Arktika-M" satellite, which was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on February 28, 2021. It became the world’s first high-precision satellite for non-stop observation of the Arctic. The joint operation of the two satellites will ensure monitoring of the Earth’s surface and the seas of the Arctic Ocean in a round-the-clock mode, as well as improve the quality of communications.
In the future, the number of satellites is planned to be increased to four.
The "Arktika-M" satellite is presented on the "Achievements.RF" platform, which is open in the run-up to the International RUSSIA EXPO. The exposition will run in Moscow at the VDNH from November 4, 2023 to April 12, 2024. It will be attended by all Russian regions, major corporations, authorities, public organizations and representatives of foreign countries.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
