The best practices in local landscaping were presented at the branch of National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye
A seminar for chairpersons and members of the regional territorial public self-government (TPSG) was held at the National Center RUSSIA branch in Primorye. The seminar attendees shared their landscaping experiences and discussed how citizens' initiatives help improve life in yards and neighborhoods.
The event was part of the "TPSG Off-Premise Hour", and brought together activists from all over the region. The meeting was opened by a vivacious flash mob at the main entrance to the National Centre: guests chanted in unison, thus setting a cheerful mood for the whole event.
TPSG representatives shared the stories of their initiatives. For example, the Vladivostok TPSG on Ladygina Street has beautified the yard so it turned into a green oasis with flower beds, where both adults and children find it pleasant to relax. In the city of Artyom, residents have had an electrical substation and street lighting installed, and have refurbished a trash enclosure and a playground. Just in a year, socially active dwellers of the town of Zarubino managed to create flower beds, small architectural forms and even a "reconciliation bench", as a result, uniting all generations by work on the yard's improvement.
The TPSG from the city of Arsenyev showed that combining the efforts of several yards helps to solve big tasks: because of joint projects, it became possible to improve a large area and modernize storm sewers. There are already five TPSGs on Russky Island that have managed to refine their spaces.
More stories were told by representatives of other territories: someone installed video cameras and expanded the parking lot, and another one is building an outdoors workout area for teenagers. All participants admitted that the establishment of TPSGs contributes to the unity of residents.
Yelena Porubova, Director of the Primorye Regional Association for the Development of TPSG and Civil Initiatives, stressed that TPSG activities play an important role in the life of the region: "We bring people together, revive good-neighborly relations, improve the place where we live, and organize events. This is a big and important common task. A great thanks to the Government of the Primorye region for their support, and to you for your hard work," she said, addressing the representatives of the TPSGs.
The seminar ended with the attendees' introduction to the expositions of the National Centre RUSSIA, where the guests got acquainted with the examples of the region's achievements in industry, science and culture.
This holiday is a symbol of historical justice and unity of the Russian people.
