Try out a domestic time machine, travel to the world of cult movie characters and even try on their images. The exposition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous director Leonid Gaidai opened for guests and is available free of charge.

"It is impossible to imagine a Russian person outside of Gaidai's films. This is our cultural code. His movies are a treasure trove of unforgettable quotes, quips, everyday wisdom, and at our exposition we offer to get acquainted with their bearers a little closer. The work on these funny and cute characters is much more complicated and deeper than it seems at first sight", — said the director of the Museum of Cinema Larisa Bazhenova.

Visitors will find themselves in a house inhabited by cult characters of their favorite comedies. You can sit in Shurik's kitchen or look into Shpak's hiding places. Ladies will flaunt at the mirror in the image of Nina from "Kidnapping, Caucasian Style" or a flirty actress Zina from "Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future". And men will be able to try on the image of charming swindlers Gesha Kozodoev or Georges Miloslavsky, who were always dressed to the hilt even in the most difficult situations.

"In the exposition we tried to combine and sincere love for the master, and impartial assessment of success. After all, almost every Gaidai comedy is a mirror of the era. Every kindly comic type - be it a vigilant house manager or elegant swindler - reflected one or another facet of Soviet society. Our society, among others", — says curator Nikita Kotik.

The main exhibits of the exposition relate to the creation of the films "Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures", "The Diamond Arm", "Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future", "It Can't Be!", as well as Gaidai's films, less known to the general public. This is a real excursion into the world of Gaidai's heroes.

Photo zones and interactive attractions have been prepared for visitors. For example, you can try the time machine of the inventor engineer Timofeev. Also, in the Museum of Cinema movie screenings are planned for the duration of the exposition. The audience will have a unique opportunity to see not only the famous works of the master, but also to get acquainted with his early works.

The RUSSIA EXPO is open Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The best time to visit is in the mornings and weekdays, but the exposition is open to everyone on weekends as well. All expositions and events are free of charge.
