In-person forum of the All-Russian Movement "Volunteer Teachers" opens in Moscow
On 29 July, the "Space of Opportunities" of the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the opening of the in-person forum of the All-Russian Movement "Volunteer Teachers", bringing together members of the community to review the organisation's achievements and plan its future development. The first day of the forum focused on in-depth professional dialogue and strategic planning. Participants were presented with the movement's results over the past period, followed by a foresight session involving representatives of different generations.
One of the day's key events was a training session on working with children who have experienced psychological trauma. It was led by Svetlana Stroganova, a certified trainer in trauma-informed support for children, Development Director of the Foundation "Our Children", a mother of many children, a foster parent and a public figure. Participants received practical guidance on providing sensitive support to schoolchildren facing difficult life circumstances.
Venera Valeyeva, Head of Methodology and Content for the "Digital Skills and Competencies" programme at the "Contribution to the Future" Charitable Foundation of Sberbank, and an expert with the All-Russian project named "AI Academy for School Students", delivered a masterclass entitled "Artificial Intelligence for Teachers". She spoke about how AI technologies are already being applied in education and described the opportunities they offer educators. Participants also discussed the protection of personal data and the development of skills for the effective and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools. The expert shared the Foundation's teaching resources and methodological materials.
"Yesterday, the National Centre RUSSIA opened its doors to volunteer teachers and participants of our in-person forum. Everyone had the opportunity to join a guided tour of its main exposition, which showcases the brightest achievements from every corner of our vast country, from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad. Today, at the venue of the Centre, we reviewed the movement's achievements over the past five years. Colleagues shared their experiences, discussed current projects and initiatives, and it was especially rewarding to see school students actively involved: they helped volunteers during the foresight session develop recommendations for making lessons more effective. The first day of the forum was highly productive and concluded with joint planning for the upcoming academic year," said Yelena Sorokina, Founder and Head of the All-Russian Movement "Volunteer Teachers" and Director of the ANO "Profi Centre".
The second day of the forum, on 30 July, will focus entirely on practical work. It will take place at the "Sreda Svoikh" co-working space. Participants will discuss challenging case studies from their professional practice, take part in masterclasses on in-person and online teaching formats, and join an open dialogue on changes in working with children. The day will conclude with the shaping of a roadmap for implementing the decisions adopted to support the movement's development in the new academic year.
The forum is being held as part of the "Start into the Future: A Project to Scale Tutoring and Educational Support for Children Facing Difficult Life Circumstances" initiative, implemented by the ANO "Profi Centre" with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.
Its inaugural issue focuses on the theme of the future and is conceived as a genuine "time capsule" for readers.
