The National Centre RUSSIA hosted the presentation of Pavel Krasheninnikov’s new book "On the Path to a Superpower"
On February
11, at the National Centre RUSSIA, Pavel Krasheninnikov, author of scientific
works in the field of state and legal history and bestsellers such as "The
State Against the Revolution" and "Twilight of the Empire,"
presented his new book, "On the Path to a Superpower: State and Law in Times
of War and Peace (1939–1953)." The publication introduces readers to the
events of World War II from the perspective of state and law and contains
little-known historical facts that have largely shaped the direction of
Russia’s development.
Professor,
historian, politician, expert in civil law, and Doctor of Law Pavel
Krasheninnikov shared the story behind the writing of the book, invited
reflections on the historical interconnection of the past, present, and future,
and answered questions.
"I
believe that we all have the right to know what happened. And those who study
history should not be greedy — they should tell people what, how, and why
things happened, why a particular law was adopted at the time and not another,
why certain international treaties were concluded. This year is special — it is
80 years since Victory — and what happened before, after, and during the war is
very important now. After all, any decision depends not only on the one who
signed it but also on those who prepared it, on the social and cultural relations
of the time. We must understand that law is created by human hands — it does
not come from above," emphasized Pavel Krasheninnikov.
The author
also emphasized the great importance of historical books for modern youth.
"Young people should know about the heroic deeds of their ancestors, and my book contributes to this as well. Just as we must also know about specific individuals — our grandmothers and grandfathers who are no longer with us — and understand that without them, we would not exist either," concluded Pavel Krasheninnikov.
Honored
guests of the event shared their impressions of the book. Merited Lawyer of the
Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, and Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the
Russian Federation Lidia Mikheyeva gave high praise to the publication.
"First
and foremost, the author is a lawyer who works with facts. He does not pass
judgment but gives us food for thought, and all these facts and documents will
undoubtedly leave a deep impression and influence the formation of a person as
a professional lawyer," emphasized Lidia Mikheyeva.
Military
and state figure, Senator of the Russian Federation representing the executive
authority of the Kursk region, participant in the Special Military Operation,
and recipient of six combat orders Alexei Kondratyev noted that the book helps
to reach a correct understanding of processes from the perspective of state and
law.
"I
highly recommend this insightful book with great pleasure; it truly serves as a
foundation for understanding what lies ahead," noted Alexei Kondratyev.
The event
concluded with a book signing session, where the authors of the best questions
and other participants received a copy of the book signed by Pavel
Krasheninnikov. A special copy, signed by the author, will also remain in the
library of the National Centre RUSSIA.
"This
is not my first time at the National Centre RUSSIA — I really like it here, and
each time it gets better and better," admitted Pavel Krasheninnikov.
