Screenings of new Russian TV series dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory were held at the National Centre RUSSIA
The
Internet Development Institute (ANO "IRI") held a series of free
screenings as part of the programme "War Stories Come to Life: New Russian
TV Series for the 80th Anniversary of Victory" at the National Centre
RUSSIA. Viewers were among the first to see new military-historical, adventure,
and documentary projects created with the support of IRI for the anniversary
date.
"Through
modern projects and technologies, we can vividly show viewers — especially
young people — the significance of the events of the Great Patriotic War. Each
episode helps reveal the character of Soviet soldiers, partisans, and ordinary
civilians who demonstrated incredible resilience and loyalty to the Motherland.
IRI supports such content every year because it shapes our understanding of the
past and helps preserve the memory of our history. We are glad that the IRI
screenings at the National Centre RUSSIA resonated with audiences of all ages —
many came with their children and grandchildren. That means a lot to us,"
noted IRI Director General Alexei Goreslavsky.
On 1 May,
the programme opened with the premiere of the series "Taganrog,"
about Soviet boys and girls who fought against the Nazi invaders in the Rostov
region. After the screening, viewers had the opportunity to meet with the
project team — actors Denis Donskoi, Vitali Yarosh, Artem Nemov, Andrei
Bogdanov, Sergei Listunov, casting director Yelizaveta Budkevich,
editor-in-chief Yekaterina Kirillova, and communications director Svetoslav
Zhdanov.
The series
was produced by the film company Triix Media in cooperation with Gazprom-Media
Holding, with the support of IRI and the National Centre for Historical Memory
under the President of the Russian Federation, as part of the project "No
Statute of Limitations." The episodes have been available on the online
cinema PREMIER since 3 May and on the NTV channel since 5 May.
On 2 May,
the screening cycle continued with the military drama "That Means We’re
Headed That Way," which tells the story of five friends from different
Soviet republics serving in the same infantry regiment. After the screening,
the film crew — represented by actors Mark Bogatyryov, Anton Pampushny, and
scriptwriter Sergei Volkov — spoke to the guests about the filming process. The
series was produced by the film company SM Studio with the support of IRI.
Since 23 April, the project has been available on the media platform Smotrim
and was broadcast on the Rossiya TV channel on 5 May.
On 4 May,
the screening featured the spy drama "On the Trail of the Beast,"
which focuses on the work of Soviet and German intelligence during a turning
point in the Great Patriotic War. Actors Anton Batyrev, Sergei Komarov, Mikhail
Tarabukin, actress Yevgenia Malakhova, Star Media producer Alexander Starikov,
REN TV editor Oleg Sirotkin, casting director Alexandra Gershevich, and second
director Yulia Sokol presented the series and interacted with the audience. The
project was created by REN TV and the film company Star Media with the support
of IRI. The premiere will take place on 8 May on the online platform Wink.ru,
and later on REN TV.
The
programme concluded on 7 May with the documentary series "Victory,"
dedicated to key battles of the Great Patriotic War. After the screening,
producer Maria Protsenko and creative producer Maria Fanina discussed the
episodes with the audience and spoke about the particularities of making war
documentaries. The series was produced by Star Media and Channel One with the
support of IRI. "Victory" has been available on the online platform
KION since 24 April and was broadcast on Channel One starting 1 May; it is also
available on Kino1TV.
