The project "School of Young Tour Guides" has been launched at the National Centre RUSSIA
The National Centre RUSSIA continues the tradition established at the International RUSSIA EXPO with the project "School of Young Tour Guides." The program involves schoolchildren from Moscow and the Moscow region aged 9 to 17, with training lasting for three months. Graduates of the first and subsequent intakes will conduct tours at the National Centre RUSSIA.
"Participants of the 'School of Young Tour Guides' project will immerse themselves in the world of history and art, gain a deeper understanding of our country's cultural legacy, and develop speech techniques and public speaking skills. In spring, new exposition spaces will open at the National Centre RUSSIA: an interactive exposition — a journey across Russia — and an exposition dedicated to Russian architecture. The students will have the opportunity to conduct tours there and share stories about our beloved homeland with visitors," noted Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA.
During the presentation of the "School of Young Tour Guides" project, children and their parents were introduced to the National Centre RUSSIA, the teachers and mentors, and were informed about the training program and upcoming joint plans.
Upon completing the program, young guides will conduct tours of the new interactive exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA, which will allow visitors to travel across the entire country — from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad — in just one day. The exposition is set to open in March.
Children from Moscow and the Moscow region were invited to join the "School of Young Tour Guides" project during the press conference of Ded Moroz, which took place at the National Centre RUSSIA in late December 2024. Schoolchildren who wished to become guides submitted self-introduction videos, in which they talked about themselves, their hobbies, and the cities in Russia they had already visited.
"It was very exciting for me to record the video, and I’m glad to be here. I have high expectations, and I will conduct tours after completing the 'School of Young Tour Guides project," shared student Arina Valeyeva.
"I decided to participate in the project because I want to tell both adults and children how beautiful our country is and how many interesting and unique things we have. I believe the school will give me new knowledge and help me improve my communication skills. My dream is to become a great tour guide who knows their homeland well and can share it with others," said Polina Ibragimova.
After the official launch of the project's first group, schoolchildren, their parents, and mentors went on a tour of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the country's achievements and those of its citizens on a permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state-owned companies, corporations, and regions participate in the centre's activities.
The National Centre RUSSIA is located at 14 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, Moscow. The centre is open from 10:00 to 20:00 daily, except on Mondays.
