Architectural lectures "Business Russia" and "Engineering Russia" to be held at the National Centre RUSSIA
The series of educational lectures within the architectural
exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA will
continue on May 21 with the fifth meeting "Business Russia," and two
days later, on May 23, guests will be able to attend the lecture
"Engineering Russia." Both events will start at 18:00.
The lecture "Business Russia" will introduce
listeners to the evolution of business spaces in the country and remind them
that the business environment is defined not only by the economy but also by
the architectural buildings where negotiations take place and contracts are
signed.
Guests of the National Centre RUSSIA will learn about the
buildings that have become symbols of entrepreneurship and business culture in
Russia during various historical periods. Experts will also explain how
architectural solutions become tools for success, creating an atmosphere for
business and improving interactions between partners and clients.
The main theme of the lecture "Engineering Russia"
will be the technical aspects of architecture. Unique buildings will be
presented to the listeners not just as architectural masterpieces, but as
embodiments of bold ideas based on precise calculations and deep knowledge of
the laws of physics.
The programme will feature stories about how Russian
architects applied engineering expertise and found unconventional approaches,
playing with shapes, materials, and details. Often, their projects were ahead
of their time, raising the standards of comfort and efficiency of buildings to
a new level.
Moderator of both lectures will be art historian and
architectural historian Yelizaveta Likhacheva. In "Business Russia,"
her conversation partner will be Anton Nadtochiy, co-founder and chief
architect of the ATRIUM workshop, while in "Engineering Russia," her
guest will be Nikolai Vasilyev, Associate Professor at the NRU Moscow State
University of Civil Engineering, Professor at the V. I. Surikov Moscow State
Academic Art Institute, and Advisor to the Russian Academy of Architecture and
Construction Sciences (RAASN).
The series of educational lectures on architecture with
Yelizaveta Likhacheva is available for viewing on the National Centre RUSSIA
website. For more details, follow the link.
The architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale"
at the National Centre RUSSIA reveals the grandeur of Russia through its
architectural heritage. The exposition includes both items from the National
Centre RUSSIA’s own collection and those provided by museums and private
collectors across the country. Among them are the tools of architects from
various periods, drawings and models, buildings that have been successfully
constructed, as well as projects that remained as innovative ideas. A separate section
is dedicated to the future of Russian architecture — children's creative
studios, student workshops, and works by young architects.
Partners of "The
Birth of Scale" exposition include DOM.RF, the Ministry of Construction of
Russia, Gazprom, the State Research Museum of Architecture named after A. V.
Shchusev, the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, the Architectural
Charitable Foundation named after Yakov Chernikhov, and the HSE School of
Design.
