The Russian Design Industry Forum opened at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 15 April, the IV Russian Design Industry Forum opened at
the National Centre RUSSIA, aimed at promoting the domestic design industry.
The event is taking place from 14 to 16 April and brings together Russian
designers and professional communities, manufacturing enterprises, suppliers, buyers,
retail chains, as well as representatives of public authorities and educational
institutions.
The first day of the forum was held at the Kosygin Russian
State University. The business programme focused on practical industry issues,
including the development of national identity in design, project
commercialisation and interaction with the real sector of the economy. One of
the key topics was also the development of human capital: participants
discussed tools for launching start-ups, including the "Startup as a
Diploma" programme, as well as approaches to supporting young
professionals as they transition from execution-based roles to entrepreneurial
and expert activities. In addition, several agreements were signed as part of
the event.
At the National Centre RUSSIA, the forum will focus on the
following key themes: "Strategy and Governance", "Tools and
Metrics", "Design Toolkit for SMEs", "New Industry",
"Design as a Profession: A New Code", and "Local and
Global". Together with leading experts, participants will discuss how
design helps Russian companies strengthen their competitiveness, develop their
own visual and conceptual language, draw on the national cultural code and
enter international markets, including in the BRICS+ countries.
The Russian Design Industry Forum is held to bring together
representatives of the Russian design industry for an equal dialogue on joint
business strategies and to develop a roadmap for future growth. The organiser
is the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Industry and
Trade of the Russian Federation. Co-organisers include the National Centre
RUSSIA, the Agency for Creative Industries, the Kosygin Russian State
University and the Union of Designers of Russia.
