The programme of events dedicated to Global Exhibitions Day, which in 2025 is held under the motto "Speaking the Same Language," started on June 10 at the National Centre RUSSIA. Over two days, industry professionals will examine exhibitions from the perspective of a universal language for communication and a platform for self-realisation, discuss prospects for the development of exhibition and congress activities and business tourism, and share experience with young people.

The initiator of Global Exhibitions Day, first vice-president of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, vice-president of ExpoForum-International company Sergei Alexeyev noted the global significance of the Russian exhibition industry and emphasised the special role of the National Centre RUSSIA in developing this important sphere of activity.

"Today it is particularly important not to lose connections with our friendly countries, and to make unfriendly ones understand that our industry is developing. I am very pleased that the ideas of the RUSSIA EXPO have reached the people and the new National Centre RUSSIA continues to implement these ideas. Because it is very important not to lose this tool, which is actively developing in many countries, and it is important to continue developing our exhibition industry at the National Centre RUSSIA and in our regions. I think we are on the right path," stated Sergei Alexeyev.

The first day of the programme was addressed primarily to young specialists and everyone interested in developing in the sphere of event organisation. The best representatives of the industry told newcomers what knowledge and skills a representative of the event organiser profession should possess, and how these qualities can be useful in everyday life.

Global Exhibitions Day at the National Centre RUSSIA started with an informal discussion in the format of a creative jam session. Participants talked about trends and technological innovations in exposition art, reasoned about how to find balance between task and creative idea, budget and client wishes, what interests exhibition visitors, how to encourage them to take selfies at stands, and what role artificial intelligence plays in generating ideas and designing expositions.

Director General of Pavilion Group, producer of the "Journey Across Russia" gallery Viacheslav Kudelin told how the idea of creating one of the main expositions of the National Centre RUSSIA — the "Journey Across Russia" exposition — was born, and what the main difficulty of its organisation consisted of.

"We faced a challenging task — to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO, and since one of the brightest memories of it was the regional exposition, the task was clearly formulated — to create a unified, compact and integral exposition demonstrating our entire country. Thus was born the idea of 'Journey Across Russia,' which gives the opportunity to travel through the country once again from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. The complexity of creating this exposition also lay in the fact that it had to become equally interesting both for people who had never been to the represented federal districts, and for those who live in them," noted Viacheslav Kudelin.

In the format of co-authored readings "Pavilion Movement: Representing the Country at International Events," readers, authors and the team of the united editorial office of the Exhibition Research Institute R&C discussed what goals countries pursue when presenting their achievements at international expositions, what limits the team of pavilion designers faces, and other questions.

A workshop on business communication was conducted by co-authors of the bestseller "Networking for Intelligence Officers: How to Benefit from Any Acquaintance," professional intelligence officers Andrei Bezrukov and Yelena Vavilova. They told the audience how to form the right environment and use communications to achieve goals in business and personal life.

An important highlight of the first day was the session "100 Questions to an Adult. A Professional's Path." Professional secrets were shared by Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA Natalia Virtuozova. Guests asked how the International RUSSIA EXPO was created, what is happening today at the National Centre RUSSIA and how to make an event so bright and memorable that it enters history.

A landmark event of the programme was the First Championship of Event Professions "Architect of Events" — creative competitions for senior school students, students and young specialists wishing to develop in the sphere of the events industry. Participants competed in game format across four blocks: industry history, theory and practice of event organisation, accompanying services and personal development. The jury assessed both teamwork and personal achievements.

The day's programme concluded with the workshop "Burnout in the Events Industry. How to Preserve Enthusiasm and Creativity." Candidate of sociological sciences, psychologist, founder of the Self-Evolution online school, author of a programme for developing assertive skills and communicative intelligence, radio presenter and TV expert Anetta Orlova shared advice on how to cope with constant fatigue, poor psychophysical condition and emotional exhaustion in professional activity.

The second day of the Global Exhibitions Day celebration at the National Centre RUSSIA will be of interest to industry professionals. It is dedicated to discussing the development of the events industry in Russia. Experts will share the best developments and practices that contributed to the successful conduct of exhibitions and conferences in various regions.

The central event will be the plenary session "Speaking the Same Language," whose participants will examine questions about the global mission and role of exhibitions in the modern world. The programme will also include the summit of historical regions "Growing through Events," panel discussion "How to Develop National Centres in Russia's Regions?", excursions, workshops, presentations and other events.
