"Russia" opens in Siberia: foreign consuls visit the new National Centre RUSSIA branch in Krasnoyarsk
On the day of its official opening, the National Centre
RUSSIA branch in Krasnoyarsk was visited by representatives of the diplomatic
corps. Among the distinguished guests were Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the State of Eritrea to the Russian Federation Petros Tsegai
Asgedom, Vice-Consul of the Embassy Office of the Kyrgyz Republic in
Krasnoyarsk Azamat Kabayev, and Acting Consul General of the Republic of
Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg Shohrat Rustam oglu Mustafayev. Their visit
underscored the significance of the new cultural and exposition complex not
only for Russia but also for strengthening international humanitarian ties.
The branch, opened by order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, is among the first in the
country. Located in the heart of Siberia, it aims to showcase the achievements,
history, and diversity of the Krasnoyarsk region — a territory with unique
natural, economic, and cultural potential. The primary goals of the venue are
to strengthen all-national cohesion, pass on traditional values to the younger
generation, and foster a sense of pride in one's country.
The consuls' visit served as a vivid testament to the
growing interest of the international community in Russian regions and their
role in building cultural dialogue. The foreign guests toured the exposition
and conversed with representatives of labour dynasties and cultural figures of
the region.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of
Eritrea Petros Tsegai Asgedom expressed his particular impressions: "When
people are all together, in such a patriotic country, like in one family — it
moved me. It was wonderful. I had no idea the building would be this large. It
has everything you can see in Russia. I like this northern city. When I was here
for the first time, I immediately knew I would come back. The cultural space of
the branch connects not only the residents of Russia but also guests from
abroad, creating strong cultural and social bonds between the peoples of the
world."
The diplomats' visit to Krasnoyarsk marks a new stage in
presenting the potential of Russian regions on the international stage. Siberia
is becoming an important platform for humanitarian cooperation and mutual
cultural enrichment.
On 15 December 2025, the official opening of the National Centre RUSSIA branch took place in Krasnoyarsk.
Maxim Lagashkin, theatre, cinema, and television actor, producer, and lecturer for the Russian society Znanie, delivered a lecture for the residents of Krasnoyarsk.
For the branch’s first visitors, its opening became an opportunity to see their native region in a new light.
