First tours held at the new National Centre RUSSIA branch in Krasnoyarsk
The first guided tours took place at the National Centre RUSSIA branch in Krasnoyarsk on 15 December. The new venue was opened by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It continues the mission of the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow. The branch strengthens national identity, a sense of pride in the country, and provides every resident and guest of the region with an opportunity to see their native land's contribution to Russia's future.
For the branch’s first visitors, its opening became an opportunity to see their native region in a new light. The interactive exposition on the bank of the Yenisei is housed in a building spanning over five thousand sq. metres. Experienced guides will tell guests about the rich history, industrial innovations, and human potential of the Krasnoyarsk region.
"Our exposition is first and foremost about the achievements of the Krasnoyarsk region. That is, it covers the economy, culture, education, and so on. The best part is that all the showpieces are interactive. That means that they both provide information, and you can simultaneously see in real-time mode how things work. At the very beginning of the exposition, we have the Yenisei interactive statue, which tells about the merits of our display. And then there are energy sources, where you can learn about the closed nuclear fuel cycle. Such a complex element is shown clearly in simple terms there. Also, information provided about our 'Krastsvetmet' non-ferrous metals plant. There, history and modern technology are all gathered in one place. It's very interesting to see," emphasised Alyona Orlova, a guide at the National Centre RUSSIA.
Among the first to visit the exposition were students from the Krasnoyarsk Choreographic College, the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service at the Russian Emergencies Ministry, and representatives of the regional branch of the All-Russian Military-Patriotic Public Movement "YUNARMIYA". The young people familiarised themselves with showpieces that helped them touch upon the region's past and future. The key feature of the exposition is its interactivity.
"The exposition gave me good emotions. I learned quite a lot of new things. I liked the part with the history of Krasnoyarsk, where there's a city model, and the history of the city itself is outlined. I really liked that at the National Centre RUSSIA, you can learn about your region and your hometown. Honestly, I didn't know a lot of things, it turns out. I really like that here you can learn about culture, sport, the economy, and nature. And, of course, about the present day," shared Maxim Potapenko, student of the Krasnoyarsk Choreographic College.
