The presentation of projects of the Voronezh region took place on 12 September at the National Centre RUSSIA. Guests of the event, held as part of the region’s themed week at the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future", were introduced to three regional projects — the Novovoronezh NPP, "Voronezh Metrobus" and the "House of Animation".

In 2014, the Novovoronezh NPP became a pilot site for the introduction of an advanced information support system for operators, developed by the plant’s specialists together with colleagues from Rosatom. Since then, considerable experience and achievements have been accumulated, which were presented by representatives of one of the oldest nuclear power plants in the country: Yuri Molokov and Vladimir Shirkov. Guests took a virtual tour of the facility, visiting in particular its modern power units No. 6 and No. 7.

"The Novovoronezh NPP is the first nuclear power plant in Russia with a water-cooled, water-moderated energy reactor (WWER). The launch of the first power unit took place on 30 September 1964. It is at our site that all life cycles of power units with such reactors are represented — from construction to decommissioning. And historically, our Novovoronezh nuclear specialists have been pioneers in all these areas," noted Yuri Molokov, leading specialist of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Novovoronezh NPP.

With the creation of the Metrobus, the Voronezh region is taking an important step into the future of urban transport by introducing modern technologies that will make residents’ travel more comfortable and safe, said Maxim Zakharov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Transport of the Voronezh Region. According to him, this is not just a project but a strategic vector of the region’s development in the field of urban comfort and digital technologies.

"The transport of the future is a kind of 'gadget on wheels'. It not only provides transportation but also monitors passengers’ condition, offers information and analytical services, and provides digital information. This, essentially, is what we are striving for," said Maxim Zakharov.

The "House of Animation" under construction will become not just the production site of the Voronezh Animation Studio but also a unique cultural and educational centre, noted Vladimir Nikolayev, General Producer of the Voronezh Animation Studio. The museum located in the "House of Animation" will allow guests to learn about the projects of the Voronezh region and will increase the region’s attractiveness from the perspective of tourism.

"We studied international experience and see that this is a very popular idea for children and family experiences. Statistics show that an average animation museum, which slightly lifts the veil of secrecy over how films are made, has a certain visitor traffic. And we believe that our museum, with our content and concept, will attract around 500,000 tourists," concluded Vladimir Nikolaev.

The event was accompanied by a win-win quiz on knowledge of the Voronezh region, which was attended not only by experts and fans of the region but also by foreign guests. The programme concluded with a performance by the Men’s Choir of the Voronezh Philharmonic ART’o’dox.

The Days of the Voronezh Region at the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA are being held from 9 to 14 September. The programme of the region’s themed week includes lectures and workshops, presentations, performances by artists and ensembles, the distribution of souvenirs and much more.
