Higher School of Economics: from IT to family policy
Major projects in the field of education and socio-economic development of the country, which are implemented by the university, were presented at the RUSSIA EXPO.
According to Rector Nikita Anisimov, HSE is currently working on major projects to improve the education system in Russia and is actively involved in 20 strategic initiatives of the Government. These include the study "Let's Do Science in Russia", creation of statistics on the digital economy, tax maneuver in the IT industry, the concept of technological development until 2030, and many others. In addition, Vyshka (colloquial name for NRU HSE) is an expert and analytical center of the country and organizes more than a dozen socially important projects in more than 30 Russian regions. These projects include the development of university development strategies, socio-economic development strategies, pricing and investment policies in the electricity and utilities sectors, recommendations on improving demographic policy measures, integrated territorial development projects, support for the integration of universities in the LPR and DPR into the Russian education system, and other important projects.
Also, as part of the work of the Expert Analytical Center, Vyshka participated in the preparation of state councils: "Youth Policy", "Labour Market Development", "Digital Economy", "Industry", "Science", "Tasks of the Subjects of the Russian Federation in Healthcare", "Support for Families with Children".
The Higher School of Economics operates in several major Russian cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm and Nizhny Novgorod) and is a leader in terms of the quality of budget and tuition fee enrollment in these regions. Each campus of Vyshka conducts research on a regular basis, which is used to create a strategy for the spatial development of Russian regions.
Vyshka has been implementing a two-degree program with dozens of regional universities (UrFU, FEFU, TyumSU, NEFU, SFU, NSU and others) for several years. Teachers from two universities - Vyshka and the partner university - work with students. In the course of their education, students from regional universities take classes, work in project teams and participate in seminars together with students from the Moscow campus of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in a time schedule that is optimal for both regions.
"More than 900 students in the Russian regions have already received higher education according to the standards of the Higher School of Economics. Now there are 1,500 students studying in more than 10 Russian cities within the framework of the two-degree program according to HSE standards. We have a huge impact on the educational environment and improve the quality of higher education throughout the country," emphasized Nikita Anisimov.
He added that the main goal of Vyshka is to be a global university for the whole of Russia and not just to actively participate in the Russian agenda, but to create it.
Separately, the Rector spoke about the HSE Mirror Labs project. These are research projects that Vyshka implements with regional universities and scientific organizations to improve efficiency in research and education and develop academic cooperation. According to Nikita Anisimov, over the past few years Vyshka has created 30 "Mirror Labs" with 24 regional universities and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 21 regions of the country.
