The life-giving power of love: the painting "Yaroslavna’s Lament" at the «Legacy for the Future» exposition
The authors
of the works presented at the "Legacy for the Future" exposition,
open until February 2, encourage viewers not only to reflect on tomorrow but
also to turn to the historical past, which inspires good deeds and celebrates
simple universal values. One such work is "Yaroslavna's Lament," the
diploma project of Maria Golosnaya, a student of the Russian Academy of Painting,
Sculpture, and Architecture named after Ilya Glazunov.
The subject
of the painting refers viewers to the unique monument of Old Russian
literature, "The Tale of Igor’s Campaign"—specifically, to one of the
most touching and poetic parts of this work.
"Yaroslavna's
Lament" in Maria's interpretation speaks of the personal experiences of a
young princess, embodies the greatness of the Russian people and Russian women,
and praises the remarkable power of marital love.
"To
me, Yaroslavna is multifaceted because I believe that every woman, in her own
way, is Yaroslavna," noted the young artist.
Maria
Golosnaya is originally from Odintsovo. Her work, "Yaroslavna's
Lament," has resonated deeply with viewers and received high praise from
experts. The painting took an entire year to complete. The artist first
gathered materials, searched for models and costumes, and only then began
working on the canvas itself.
"This
is one of my favorite works at the exposition. It helps us realize how much our
loved ones need our care and support," said visitor Anna Karaseva, who
came to the National Centre from the Perm region.
We remind you that the second floor of the National Centre RUSSIA will be temporarily closed to visitors due to the upcoming change of expositions. However, cultural, educational, and business programs will continue as planned. All up-to-date information regarding event dates and locations can be found in the "Events" section on the website. Starting in February, the expositions "Hall of Inventions" and "Legacy for the Future" will conclude their run. In March, following installation and updates, the National Centre will host two new expositions: an architectural exposition and "Journey Across Russia."
Visitors to
the National Centre can attend the exposition of young artists' works until
February 2.
On January
29, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a repeat showing of the musical and
poetic performance "Sisters."
The
presentation of the collection is timed to coincide with the anniversary of
Yelena Polenova.
