Baikal. Buryatia. A place of power
The Republic of Buryatia, located on the shore of the great Lake Baikal, is an ideal place for
the development of eco-tourism. The concept of the exposition "Baikal.
Buryatia. A Place of Power" invites RUSSIA EXPO visitors to explore
untouched protected areas, feel the energy and power of the sacred Lake Baikal,
and immerse themselves in the unique cultural code and identity of the peoples
of Buryatia.
The regional exhibit features a replica of the statue "Mother Buryatia." In her hands, she holds a bowl of water from which trailing flowers hang.
"Mother
Buryatia," also known as "Hospitable Buryatia," is the tallest
monument in the Republic’s capital. Welcoming guests, she holds a khadag — a
Buddhist symbol of hospitality, purity, respect, and well-wishing — in her
palms, blessing and sanctifying the bustling city of Ulan-Ude and its visitors.
The original statue stands 16 meters tall, and the span of its outstretched
arms is 6 meters. The tip of the hat on the statue's head is gilded with gold
leaf and can be seen from almost anywhere in Ulan-Ude.
Around the
perimeter of the flower bed, Siberian firs, Adams' rhododendrons, lady's
slippers, and other plants are arranged, harmoniously combining the beauty of
nature with human artistry.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
