The Royal Fish. Krasnoyarsk region
2024 is the
year when we celebrate the 100th birthday of Viktor Petrovich Astafiev, an
author who lived and wrote his stories in the Krasnoyarsk region. In March of
2023, the President of Russia signed a decree on celebrating his birthday.
Specially for this date V.P. Astafiev’s National Centre was built in the
village of Ovsyanka, the Krasnoyarsk region. This village is the writer’s
homeland. The opening of the Centre took place on the writer’s birthday, May 1.
The flower arrangement "Royal Fish" refers precisely to the novel by Viktor Astafiev. The work of the same name, created in the 70s of the last century, reminds us over time that nature cannot be tamed. Only a balanced usage of its resources provides the foundation for development in the present and future.
The center
of a flower composition "Royal Fish" presents a sturgeon shimmering in the sun.
The figure is made in a modern style. This is a strong fish that can destroy a
fisherman's net and break free. It personifies the tough spirit of Siberians who
honor traditions and adapt them to modernity. The mirror-likeness of a figure
is like a reflection of the world, a reflection of what a person does. Everyone
can see themselves in it, their reflection, the reflection of their deeds.
Nature brings everything back and makes one think carefully: "Am I doing
everything right?"
…A boat has
become leaky long ago and is quietly living out its life on the bank. It is no
longer possible to row with this oar. The fish, having broken through a net in
a victorious flight, in spite of everything, flies over the waters of the
Yenisei. The river Yenisei is imitated in the display by herbaceous plants of a
greyish-blue palette, which are echoing the color of the cold river.
To create
the composition, more than 150 plants of six species, 600 kilograms of stones
collected on the banks of the Yenisei, wood chips, wood, and metal were used.
The main message is that the experience of the past is a support for the
future. Events and people lay the foundation for everything that happens. And
for us, the future lies only in harmony with nature, in respect for elders, in
knowledge of traditions and culture of our native land.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
