Dagestan — a point of attraction
The Dagestan of the future is a combination of traditions
and modern trends. In the future, Dagestan will preserve its national and
confessional diversity, brotherhood of peoples, their culture and languages.
Relying on this solid foundation, the republic will continue its development,
as well as strengthen its status as a hospitable and tourist-attractive region
open to friends, investment and innovation.
The landscape of the Dagestan exposition is represented by perennial plants that epitomize the diversity of the region. Juniper bushes rise like mighty mountains, and rhododendrons symbolize local residents, famous for their hospitality.
The main flower of the flowerbed is the mountain edelweiss,
a symbol of pure love and warmth of heart of the inhabitants of the republic.
Edelweiss is an herbaceous plant of the aster family, widespread in the
highlands of Dagestan. There is a legend connected with the flower: according
to it, a young man Uveys and a girl Edel lived in a village and fell in love
with each other, but fate was against them. To be with his beloved, the young
man entered the fierce battle and won, but was mortally wounded. Tears rolled
down from Edel's face, turning into flowers. People named these flowers
Edelweiss.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
