Kurgan region: a healthy future
The
flowerbed of the Kurgan region presents a flight of fancy about the future of a
resort on Lake Medvezhy, which was ranked second among the best Russian spa
resorts in 2023.
The
exposition highlights the peculiarity of the lake shore: it looks like two separate
bodies of water connected by a narrow strait. Here, two blue lakes soar in a
composition with white futuristic architectural forms against the background of
the green lawn. Flowers make the flowerbed look nice and add colors to the
element of water.
The base of
the flowerbed is sown with a green lawn grass, on which flowerpots are
installed. The composition shows the buildings of the future. At different
levels, plants of white, blue, dark blue, and purple colors are planted
according to the season — anomalous peony, sweet peas, forget-me-nots, daisies,
meadow geranium.
The
anomalous peony, or, as the locals call it — Mary's root (Paeonia anomala L.),
is a rare plant listed in the Red List of Endangered Species of the Kurgan
region. You can meet it in its wild form under the canopy of a relict pine and
linden forest, which is a part of the natural monument "Vishnevo-Ostrovnaya
dacha". This place is located on the peninsulas of the salt lake resort
Medvezhye (Petukhov Municipal District of the Kurgan region). Because of its
beauty, the local dwellers actively grow Mary’s Root together with other their
plants in flowerbeds, in gardens, and near their homes.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
