We are from Udmurtia!
Udmurtia is
a region of pristine springs, mixed forests, velvety meadows, and picturesque
eco-trails; a land known for its warmth and hospitality. Here, the ancient
waterways of Russia, the Kama and Vyatka rivers, originate. The landscapes are
so varied and beautiful that traveling through Udmurtia feels like traversing
half the world: coniferous and mixed forests, dense oak groves, rolling hills
stretching to the horizon, blooming fields, mysterious lakes, and steep
riverbanks with breathtaking views.
In its exposition, the region aimed to convey the key idea: it is the people—residents of this vibrant and unique republic—who shape the past, present, and future. Modern heroes of Udmurtia include athletes, gunsmiths, farmers, factory workers, cultural and scientific figures, students, mothers with many children, and many others. The republic's indisputable treasures are world-famous composer P.I. Tchaikovsky, 20th-century chief weapons designer M.T. Kalashnikov, cavalry maiden N.A. Durova, Udmurt poet Kuzebay Gerd, and many other notable personalities.
Floriculture
is a pride of Udmurtia. Every tenth rose in the country’s stores is grown in
our republic. The region boasts about 7,000 pristine springs, 9,000 rivers, the
largest ponds in Europe, and beautiful nature reserves.
Silver
springs here ring like monisto (a traditional necklace) on the chest of Udmurt
beauties. In the old days, silver monisto in Udmurtia were not just decorations
but symbols of family wealth and talismans against evil for women. Monisto is
one of the most popular tourist souvenirs that visitors take home from
Udmurtia. Today, monisto are worn not only by folk artists and employees of
Udmurt cultural centers. They are a trendy accessory ordered from craftswomen
or made by women and girls of various professions and lifestyles. A stylized
monisto made from mirror elements adorns the republic's landscape composition
at the RUSSIA EXPO.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
