Ocean of flowers. Sakhalin region
The
Sakhalin region is the only region in the Russian Federation entirely located
on islands. The region is a leader in technological growth, with dynamic
development in the oil and gas sector, energy, and tourism projects. Logistics
capabilities are expanding thanks to the development of port infrastructure,
and in the future, due to the construction of a bridge between Sakhalin Island
and the mainland.
The
exposition features recognizable symbols: the bridge between the island and the
mainland, wind turbines, and reminders of the region's economy with gas
carriers, as well as a tourist image with a cruise ship and a yacht. The art
object "Heart" includes a map of Sakhalin Island and the Kurils.
Decorative
flowering plants are planted in the waves of the "sea." The sea water
is symbolized by large lavender grandiflora petunia inflorescences, large
flowers of blue horned viola with delicate hues, and lush rounded
inflorescences of finely cut verbena. Lobelia "Sapphire" conveys the
nuances of the deep blue sea color. Ageratum, with its fluffy balls, resembles
splashes of salty water. Silver cineraria with leaves the color of sea foam on
the crest of the waves is also used in the design.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
