Rainbow. Jewish Autonomous Region
At the heart of the region's floral exposition is the flag
of the Jewish Autonomous Region with a seven-color rainbow. It has many
symbolic meanings for the people of the region. In ancient Jewish writings, it
was said: if you see a bright, colorful rainbow, it means you remember the
meaning of ancient legends and that they give hope for a beautiful and happy
future. And if you reach the end of the rainbow, you will surely find a pot of
happiness. These legends have given people hope for many centuries. Ninety
years ago, for the first time in the world, the Jewish people were allocated
land for permanent residence.
A photo zone is arranged at the exposition. In honor of the
Year of Family announced by the President, a silhouette model of a friendly
family, for which the region is famous, is displayed. Each color of the flag is
planted with a different plant (begonia, marigold, ninebark, kochia, petunia,
surfinia).
On the flag the white background uniting all colors — as a
sign of friendship of the peoples of the Jewish region — is represented by
white marble (brucite), which is mined on the territory of the region and is
the basis of the world stock of magnesium fertilizers.
For popularization and recognizability, a polygonal figure
of a tiger is presented in the exposition - this animal is depicted on the coat
of arms of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The population of tigers in the EAR is
larger than in other regions of the Far East.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
