The granary of Russia. Stavropol region
The Stavropol region is the breadbasket of Russia, where
many crops are grown on the fertile black soil. The flowerbed of the Stavropol
region is a symbol of caring for natural resources and love for the land. It
reminds us how important it is to preserve and develop agriculture, which lays
the foundation for prosperity of both the region and the entire country.
The Stavropol region's exposition demonstrates the three
stages of growth of wheat - the region’s key cereal. The first stage is the
heading phase, the second is the flowering phase, the third is the ripening
phase. An art object in the center of the composition is the ‘Palms’. It looks
like hands made of translucent white metal mesh, folded in the shape of a
heart. They carefully ‘hold’ a bunch of golden wheat ears. The ‘heart’ is
filled with red roses as a symbol of love and prosperity. In the dark, the
composition is backlit by many luminous ears of wheat on solar batteries. The
art object is additionally illuminated from the inside to create a feeling of
‘inner light’ and warmth of the entire exposition.
The granary of Russia is, of course, famous for its wheat
yield. Wheat is the leading grain crop in many countries. It is an annual
herbaceous plant 30–150 cm tall. It is traditionally used to produce bread and
bakery products, pasta, pastries, desserts, and beverage production. Wheat was
one of the first grains domesticated by man.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
