The author and director of the film about the RUSSIA EXPO share their impressions of the project
At the National Centre RUSSIA, the premiere of the documentary "My Country — My Russia" took place, dedicated to the International RUSSIA EXPO. Dmitry Khrustalev, the film’s author, and Yekaterina Kitaitseva, the director, shared their experiences working on the project.
"My Country — My Russia" is the second joint project by the National Centre RUSSIA and the RT Documentary Channel. Over the film's 54 minutes, the production team managed to convey the atmosphere of pride, love, and admiration that prevailed throughout the Exposition’s eight-month duration.
"I am confident the Exposition will be remembered and talked about for years to come. Most importantly, it changed us all, making us see our Motherland in a new light, appreciating its uniqueness and diversity like never before. The Exposition lasted for eight months, but we worked on it for much longer! Including our first film, "Thank You, Dear," created for the Exposition’s opening, it’s been a year and a half. VDNH became like a second home. I've lived in Moscow all my life but had never spent so much time there," shared Dmitry Khrustalev.
"The Exposition is a unique event in every respect — in scale and duration. It was an incredible experience to be part of such a grand occasion for our vast country. Huge thanks to the organizers for this opportunity," added Yekaterina Kitaitseva.
The documentary "My Country — My Russia" turned out to be a beautiful, heartfelt, and touching film, as its main heroes are the people of our immense country.
The film is available to watch on the russia.ru website, the National Centre’s VKontakte page, as well as on RT International and RT Documentary Channel broadcasts.
