"Bolshaya Peremena" unites seven million participants: new season launched at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 17 April, registration for the seventh season of the All-Russian contest "Bolshaya Peremena" was officially launched at the Media House of the Movement of the First at the National Centre RUSSIA. The large-scale project is aimed at children and teenagers. Registration for senior school students, as well as college and technical school students, is open until 30 May on the official website of the contest.
First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia Sergei Kiriyenko announced the innovations of the seventh season and launched registration for senior school students and college students.
"More than six years ago, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, decided to launch the contest 'Bolshaya Peremena' as a social ladder that requires effort and dedication, because everything depends on you. Today, it is a project that we are creating together. Here, nothing is done for participants without the participants themselves. You are full-fledged authors and creators. The most important change this season is the introduction of a team track. The challenges facing people in the modern world require the ability to work as a team. This is an essential skill, and the school curriculum does not always provide the opportunity to develop it. That is why we decided that the contest 'Bolshaya Peremena' should help teach it. This year, participants will be able to choose between a team or individual format," said Sergei Kiriyenko.
He also noted that, under the new rules, previous winners of the "Bolshaya Peremena" contest can take part again as team leaders.
"The introduction of a team track is an opportunity for participants to learn how to take initiative and responsibility and to work together. The selection of the best teams and participants will take into account both teamwork and the individual contribution of each participant. One thousand teams and two thousand individual participants will advance to the semi-finals. In the final, 200 teams and 500 individual participants will compete. At the final stages, teams and individual participants will be combined to solve practical tasks together," said Head of Rosmolodyozh Grigory Gurov.
From the new season, students in grades 8–10 and vocational college students will complete online tests to identify their strengths, career orientation and type of intelligence, as well as prepare a video introduction, write an essay and present their volunteer experience.
"Over the past few years, the All-Russian contest 'Bolshaya Peremena' has brought together more than seven million people across the country. It has become a true community for schoolchildren and students, mentors and parents. Today, the flagship project of the Movement of the First is a platform for developing and implementing socially significant initiatives, fully reflecting the principle of co-creation between children and adults. I am confident that this year’s innovations will help participants fully uncover their potential and find their future vocation," said Hero of Russia, participant of the presidential programme "Time of Heroes" and Chairman of the Board of the Movement of the First Artur Orlov.
Participants of the new season will receive training in information security and financial literacy. Special adaptive opportunities and a supportive environment will also be created for children with disabilities and those facing difficult life circumstances.
At the in-person stages, participants will engage in regional programmes, where they will work on real-life tasks and contribute to the development of their regions and the country.
The final for students in grades 8–10 will take place at the Artek International Children’s Centre in October, while vocational college students will compete in Nizhny Novgorod in November. Winners will receive up to one million roubles for education or project implementation, as well as additional points for university admission.
In addition, on 28 March, the seventh season of the All-Russian contest "Bolshaya Peremena" for primary school pupils and students in grades 5–7 was launched at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The All-Russian contest "Bolshaya Peremena" is the flagship project of the Movement of the First. It is held with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodyozh), the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia as part of the national project "Youth and Children". The contest is part of the projects of the presidential platform "Russia — Land of Opportunity".
