Four new families were created during the "space wedding" at the RUSSIA EXPO
On April
12, Cosmonautics Day, four couples got married at once at the RUSSIA EXPO. The
newlyweds came from the regions with a special relation to the space industry -
the Amur, Voronezh, Arkhangelsk regions and St. Petersburg.
Before the
official wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were offered to choose space symbols
for their future families. Vladislav Gorozha and Anastasia Semik from the Amur
region chose the Mizar star, Denis Gribanov and Victoria Savrasova from the
Voronezh region chose Sirius, Sergei Kudryavtsev and Maria Andreeva from St.
Petersburg favored the Capella star, and Alexander Urlapov and Alyona Kalinina
from the Pomorie region chose two stars at once - Vega and Altair.
"We
chose the Mizar star because it is in the constellation of the Ursa Major
(Great Bear) and because we are part of our future big family, in which many
new stars are sure to appear. And the bear as a symbol of good nature, majesty,
strength and power will protect it," Vladislav and Anastasia explained
their choice.
All four couples received a tour of the capital from the Moscow City Tourism Committee, souvenirs with the symbols of Cosmonautics Day and a tea set with the symbols of the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Our
dear newlyweds, honored guests! Thank you for being with us today, on
Cosmonautics Day. This year we are also celebrating the 90th anniversary of the
birth of Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin. We all look at his smile and know how brave
he was, that he was not afraid to dream. And I wish you the same - courage,
fulfillment of all desires, to confidently walk with each other on your own
path, support each other. And everything will work out!" - noted Anastasia
Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
On behalf
of the Roscosmos State Corporation and the Cosmonaut Training Center, the
newlyweds were congratulated by test cosmonauts Arutyun Kiviryan and Sergei
Teteryatnikov, who presented them with certificates to visit the city of
Baikonur on the launch day of the rocket booster.
"We
wish your unions to shine just as bright as the stars and constellations you
have chosen today, and to have only happiness, love, mutual understanding on
your way. All the blessings to your families," said test cosmonaut Arutyun
Kiviryan.
The wedding
ceremony continued with the newlyweds' participation in the car parade of
domestic Aurus and Evolute cars, which ended on the Main Street Stage of the
RUSSIA EXPO, where a large concert with the participation of stars - rap singer
Mot, "Zemlyane" band and singer Ksenia Dezhneva - is being held
today.
In the Year of the Family announced by the President of the Russian Federation, a wonderful tradition was established at the RUSSIA EXPO - on January 23, the All-Russian Family Hearth "Heart of Russia" was lit here, and later its flames were spread to all regions of our country. On the Main Street Stage, the "cosmic" newlyweds also solemnly accepted this symbolic flame into their newfound families.
In addition to today's four new families, 56 couples have already gotten married at the RUSSIA EXPO and 35 of them held wedding ceremonies according to the national traditions of their regions, while the weddings of another 21 couples took place within the framework of industry days - new families were created by nuclear workers, power engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs and youth activists.
Young tour guides participated in another session of the School of Young Tour Guides.
On April 27, a children's workshop titled "Sugar City" was held in the art class of the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA.
Experts of the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" arrived in Moscow.
