Road to the Russian North in an old Moskvich: details of a road trip shared at the RUSSIA EXPO

Alexei Zhirukhin and Alexander Yelikov, car travelers and bloggers, shared the details of their trip around the Arkhangelsk region at the region's stand at VDNH. They traveled to 55 countries and the whole Russia, and now they are attracted to the Russian North.
This winter the team traveled to the Arkhangelsk region along the route The Road to the Russian North on an old Soviet Moskvich car. Travelers are confident: to go to the Arctic, you don't need an expensive off-road vehicle.
"Most people, hearing the word "Arctic", think that it is inaccessible and very far away. But we show by our example that the North is much closer than it seems, and you can get there even with an ordinary Moskvich," said Alexey Zhirukhin.
The Arkhangelsk region fascinates with its beauty and attracts tourists with its color and northern hospitality. All of this the bloggers experienced during their trip. They shared their impressions and discoveries with visitors to the RUSSIA EXPO in Moscow. They talked about Arctic tourism, the picturesqueness of the region's remote settlements, its sights, the White Sea and, of course, the unique Pomor cuisine.
"When you come to the North, you always discover something new there. The Arkhangelsk region is such a treasure! We told people about it, showed how unique it is, and the main thing is that traveling through it is accessible to everyone," the blogger shared.
The International RUSSIA EXPO unites the main achievements of the state. The expositions of 89 subjects of the country, including the Arkhangelsk region, are offered to the attention of visitors. The exposition will be open until April 12, 2024.
